~Gabriel's POV~

Blood. All Gabriel could see was blood everywhere. Smeared on the walls as if someone had been dragged. On the floor pools of blood led to a single bedroom at the end of a dimly lit hallway. Gabriel hesitantly moved forwards. He peeked in the room and inside he was greeted with a gruesome scene. His sibling's corpses were strewn about the room, along with other people Gabriel recognized as his former families along with his biological parents. A silent scream of agony tore from his lips but it fell on deaf ears. He spun around and tried to flee but it seemed he was stuck in place unable to escape the hellish scene. Suddenly, a soft voice spoke.

"Gabriel?" The weak voice sent chills down his spine as he slowly entered the room. There lying on the floor with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds lay his brother Castiel. "This... This is all your fault, Gabriel. We're all dead because of you and you know it." Blood leaked from his mouth. Gabriel started to back away, tears streaming down his face. He slipped in a puddle of blood and next thing he knew he felt like he was suffocating underneath the weight of whatever was on him. All the while the words Castiel said were echoing in his brain until...

Gabriel jolted awake. His breathing was uneven showing how panicked he was and he was even gasping for air. A pair of arms pulled him closer to someone's chest and when Gabriel looked up he was pleased to see Sam snuggled up close to him. However, the hellish nightmare returned and he became aware of his violent trembling.

"Gabriel? Are you okay?" A concerned voice made him look up to Sam's sleepy face. Sam gently wiped away the tears Gabe had shed. With a shuddering sigh, Gabriel rested his head against Sam.

"Y-yeah. Just a bad dream,"

"Okay. Get some sleep." Sam murmured gently. Sam's breathing slowed, telling Gabriel Sam was asleep once more Gabriel fought to regain control of his uneven and ragged breathing. Once he did he relaxed, but the images from his nightmare flashed through his mind. He sighed and looked over at Sam's peaceful face. He felt his own face heat up as he noticed how extremely close he was to him. If he wanted to, he could have leaned towards only a fraction and kissed Sam, but he refrained. He would have to keep his crush on his new best friend a secret until he felt Sam wouldn't hate him if he told him. Instead, he was content simply snuggled up in the comfort of his warmth. His nightmares melted away, replaced by happy thoughts of Sam. He cuddled closer and sighed happily. The remains of his fear clung to the edge of his mind, reminding him of unwanted memories. He closed his eyes and forced himself to try to go back to sleep. Eventually, the war with sleep needed and Gabriel drifted off contently into a dreamless sleep.
