Family Time

~Sam's POV~

The ride to the Novak house was fairly silent other than the constantly loud music. Castiel was nursing his slightly bloody nose and Gabriel was fuming with anger. Sam sighed glancing at his brother seeing a far away look in his eyes. He ran a hand through his hair and looked out the window with a bored expression. He hummed along to music he knew too well from countless long drives with Dean. They pulled into the drive and suddenly faces were pressed against the window of the house. A smirk replaced the brooding look of Gabriel's face.

"We can totally screw with my siblings," Gabriel said mischievously. Sam smiled lightly and nodded a bit. Gabriel hopped out as soon as Dean unlocked the car and dragged Sam after him. He shoved open the front door and lost his grasp on Sam but nevertheless, he kept going right up the stairs. Sam, however, was left to the prying eyes of Gabriel's family. Many sets of eyes peered at him with unbridled curiosity. Sam gave them all a small wave, sudden shyness flooding over him.

"Samoose! Mush! We have things to plan!" Gabriel called peeking down the stairs. Sam nodded and went to go up the stairs but a voice he recognized as Lucifer brought him to a halt.

"Awe Gabe,.C'non. Spend some time with the family. Dean and Cas are going to have to too." An audible sigh could be heard from Gabriel as he trudged down the stairs and flashed a smile.

"Okay." Gabriel quickly introduced everyone to Sam.

"Sam." The single voice Sam knew too well. He faced his older brother.

"Heey Mike. Glad to see you got a new change of clothes... Though I don't think those are actually your style." He smirked teasingly.

"I'm borrowing Lucifer's since you're such an asshole. But I'll get you back .." He grinned evilly. "It would be a shame if someone were to have cut your hair," Michael smirked, earning an approving nod from Lucifer. A few snickers were heard as Sam gasped and shook his head.

"No no no and no. Touch my hair Michael and I'll end you." He growled.

"Control your moose Gabriel." Lucifer chirped playfully. Anna swatted her brother.

"Oh leave him alone." It was then Sam realized how many people were actually in the room.

"We're going to watch a scary movie!" Gadreel smiled. "Here." He threw down two beanbags. Sam looked to Gabriel who simply nodded slightly and hopped down on one. Sam took the other, getting settled with his long legs sprawled out in front of him.
When Castiel and Dean got inside they went through something similar to what Gabriel and Sam did. The two of them resigned to sharing a large chair.
Anna got up and darted into the kitchen. She returned with loads of food and stacked it on the coffee table. She moved over to the lights and flicked them off before returning to her perch and starting the movie. Sam adjusted himself until he was comfortable. Gabriel had his eyes glued to the screen already, seeming to anticipate the fear that he would soon be experiencing. Sam chuckled softly and turned his attention to the screen as the title flashed across it.

"We have to do homewo-"

"Shut up Cassie." Anna threw a pillow but ended up catching Dean in the crossfire. Dean huffed as a few people giggled.
Gabriel silently tossed a sucker into Sam's lap with a small smirk. Sam unwrapped it and popped the sucker in his mouth, Gabriel copying. He watched the screen intently until a jump scare sent him straight into Sam's side like Sam could protect him. Sam rolled his eyes but didn't push the terrified Novak away.
  As the movie progressed the scares got less and less predictable, and more terrifying, at least in the eyes of the teens watching. By the end of the movie, Gabriel had actually fallen asleep against Sam's side, Michael had his face hidden behind Lucifer, who seemed amused, Castiel and Dean were significantly closer together both of their eyes saucer like. Most of the younger Novak's fled the room and the rest who stayed seemed to regret it. They were all huddled together on the couch.
   Anna sighed shakily and stood up. She flipped on the lights her gaze dancing across the people in the room.

"Is it over?" Michael asked peeking out from the safety of Lucifer's side. Lucifer cast him a hidden fond look before nodding.

"Yeah, it's over." The tension instantly left Michaels' shoulders. He sighed and then playfully punched Lucifer in the arm as Lucifer laughed at him

"Shush!" Anna shot them both a look and then pointed at Gabriel. "He's asleep so shut up!"
     Sam groaned as he carefully stood up, untangling himself from the shorter male.

"Where's his room?" Sam asked, having never made it up fully. Anna pointed up the stairs.

"It's the rainbow door." She smirked slightly. Sam gave her a confused look before nodded and gently scooping up Gabriel. Dean looked at the time.

"Sam do you just want to stay the night here? If that's okay with all of you guys that is." He flashed a small smile. Everyone agreed that it would be fine for the Winchesters to stay seeing as they did not have school the next day.

"There's guest rooms. But it's up to you where you guys sleep." Anna informed them before getting to work cleaning everything up.
  Sam carried Gabriel up the stores after saying goodnight to the remaining people in the room. He gently set the sleeping form of Gabriel and went to go find his room to sleep in but a sleepy tug stopped him.

"Stay." Gabriel murmured not even able to open his eyes but he didn't let his loose grip on Sam's sleeve go. Sam looked down at him, a strange rush of affection that Sam didn't quite understand compelled him to carefully clamber in beside Gabriel and settled down.

"G'night." Sam murmured, almost asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

"Night Sam."
