"Do you need permission to love someone?"Kiera questioned. She added, "For all my life, I have been falling for people but none has fallen for me."

Mark stayed silent. He was always ready to listen to Kiera. He observed her expression as she stared at the ground while she gathered her thoughts and arrange her words into sentences. Mark was glad that at least she was not crying because he wouldn't know what to do.

"A few years back, I had a crush on this guy and he found out about my feelings. Starting from that day, he started to talk to me a lot so I thought that he was also falling for me. Then somehow we started dating. He sent me 'I Love You's everyday and I was grateful that for the first time someone loved me so dearly. That is until I knew that I have been fed with lies.

"Our relationship was envied by our classmates and then our schoolmates. And then one day, he just kinda stopped texting with me, he stopped talking to me. I could rarely meet him despite being in a class because he was always absent.

"I was worried that something might have happened to him. He was absent for a whole week and when he came back to school he ignored me and whenever I was nearby, he would go somewhere else to just to avoid me.

"After a few days, I finally approched him and asked what was wrong. He said, 'Oh sorry I didn't realise that you were present. I couldn't see you at all since I came back to school.'

"I wanted to just punch his sarcasm that time but I held it back. Now I think about it, I regretted not doing so. I mean, how can he say that to me?

"Then the next day, a friend of mine told me everything. She told me that that guy only dated me because of a bet. His group of friends betted on that guy to see if he could make me date him in a few weeks time. I was furious that they took advantage to play me around because they all knew that I liked him.

"Just for your information, they knew I liked him because there was this girl who gossips too much. And yeah, you should be expecting her to be those typical arrogant girls who always goes on popular guys in school. She knew because she saw me write in my diary and she snatched it from me. She read my diary and that's how everyone knew.

"Also, I dumped him on the same day my friend told me about the thing that happened since the relationship was not ended by either of us. That was one of the things that I glad I did."

Mark who was listening to Kiera earnestly, put his right arm on Kiera's shoulders and pulled her close. "I'm guessing that this guy is the head of the student council?"

Kiera who was fine a moment ago started to tear up. She was so glad that at least someone was there for her. "I guess I have no luck at all in life. I'm just a nobody to everyone. First, I have a lot of bad experiences in school and then my parents died and Jennie too. I got kidnapped and I got you
kidnapped."

Mark rubbed her back to comfort her. "No. You're totally wrong, don't say that. You're actually very lucky in life because a famous idol is comforting you right now," Mark chuckled.

Kiera also laughed along.

"I'm not trying to brag but yeah," Mark added which made Kiera laughed harder. "Kiera, listen to me. All those things didn't happen because of you. Your parents love you and I believe Jennie too. You also have your grandparents with you.

"I have no right at all to say that you're doing fine and that you have to be strong when you're actually falling apart. If you're not doing fine then say thag you're not being fine. And if your not strong enough, you don't have to be strong. You can just cry it out because you are not alone and you have all of us around you. Even though your parents and Jennie are not here anymore, I'm sure that they're watching you from far. Plus, I believe your sister is always thinking about you," Mark said.

Kiera wiped the tears with her sleeves as she had felt calmer.

"By the way, that's not true,"Mark said.

Kiera was confused as she did not understand what Mark was talking about. She let go of Mark's embrace and turned to look at him. "What are you talking about?"she asked.

"You said that none has fallen for you and that's not true."

"It's okay, thank you but you don't have to say that. I know you said that just to comfort me. I don't want to hear another lie, Mark."

"I'm not lying and I have proof."

"You have proof?"

"Yes, I do and that's because I like you."

Kiera laughed. "I know you like me as a friend but that's not what I mean. I want someone to fall for me romantically."

"But I've fallen for you romantically and not as a friend. I have fallen for you deeply."

Kiera laughed even harder but instantly stopped when Mark didn't laugh along with her. They looked at each other and locked their gaze for a few seconds. Kiera waited for him to tell her that he was just joking but he never did.

"Wait, are you being serious right now?" Kiera who was speechless, covered her mouth in shock. She could feel that her face was turning hot followed by her heart which beated vigorously on her eardrums. "Okay, even if you meant what you said, why me? You could've fallen for other girls who are prettier, kinder or maybe the people in your indutry?" she questioned.

Mark looked at her in the eye and she looked away. "Look at me in the eyes,"he said.

Kiera ignored him. "Hey, don't you think the view here is just amazing?"

"Kiera, look at me,"Mark repeated for the second time but Kiera stayed still on her spot.

Mark then cupped her face in his palms and made her look at him. "Look into my eyes so that you know I'm serious about it. I meant my words very much. I've been holding it back but I just have to tell you. Also, I don't get you're asking for the reason why I like you. Look at yourself. How can I not fall for you? You're so beautiful and you're heart is even more beautiful. No matter how much prettier other girls are, all I can see is you. I only want you."

Kiera became even more speechless until she forgot that she was supposed to breathe. She couldn't believe that it was real. It almost felt like a dream.

"If that's not enough,"Mark added. He then brought Kiera's hand to his chest, at the area above his heart. "Can't you feel my heart that's beating for you?"
