The first few days were eccentric. It was as if I was completely another person. I could not feel myself. I was not me. However, I knew that I have to move on and follow the tide of life. Once I got a hold of myself, I began to breathe in a new air of elevation and learnt to live life without holding onto anything temporary. I started to help my grandparents by serving plates of great food to their customers which helped distract me from my painful thoughts. I have also been interviewed for a few part time jobs not far away from home and I was still waiting for a call of employment. I realised that I have not been so serious about my life until now.
It was definitely not easy to forget him even though my days have slightly changed for the better. From watching the television to having dinner, taking brief walks at the park, passing by JYP Entertainment's building up to browsing through our texts on my phone that I could not bear to erase, reminded me of him. All in all, I missed him. It was even harder with the fact that because of his fame, I could find at least banners, videos, or pictures of him everywhere.
Anyhow, the most painful experience is to see couples who pass by the house. Looking out the window was a habit I never had until recently. It was probably a sign that I was heavily affected by this break up. That we were real. That we truly valued each other. Somehow, knowing that was foolishly enough for me. I hope we were true.
Again today, I was looking outside with my mind loud in thoughts. Perhaps, this way, I might catch a glance of him. I have not seen his face for a while. Well, thinking about him hurts but I truthfully missed him. At the same time, I fear that I might encounter him by coincidence to the point that I avoided going online because I would not be sure how to feel if so.
I was too deep in thought that I almost spilled the cup of tea I was holding when my phone rang. I peeped on the screen in front of me while placing my drink on the coffee table. It was Haeun who called. I smiled because at least have a friend like her who can cheer me up.
"Hello," I started.
"Hey, are you home? If yes, can I come over?" she asked. Then added, "I'm bored."
"Of course. Please come, I kind of need a person to talk to."
Not even five minutes since the call ended when Haeun arrived.
"Where's Hyunjin?" I asked in an attempt to tease him.
"What about him?"
"Nothing. I was a bit shocked that you called me. I just thought that you would be with Hyunjin instead if you were bored."
"Why do I have to be with him?"
"Well, I just thought that you would call him over me."
"That is a very untrue statement," she responded while squinting her eyes in denial.
"No one knows what you guys do together alone," I added and snickered.
"We're just friends! What are talking about."
"We're just friends!" I mimicked her. Oh, I love messing around with her.
"Are you like trying to fight me or something."
"Okay," I laughed. "You don't have to get so worked up. I was just joking."
"How about you? Are you doing okay?"
"Well, I think so."
"But?" she added. Indeed, Haeun knows me well.
"I- I miss him," I breathed out loud and lowered my gaze to the wooden tiled floor.
