"Can't you feel my heart that's beating for you?"

I was blushing, overwhelmed by his words. It was true that people can lie about loving a person but their hearts cannot decieve. After feeling his heartbeat I could feel that it was beating the same way as mine was.

I mean, is anyone kidding me? I do not expect the handsome and famous Mark would have feelings for me.

Just then his phone rang, breaking the intense atmoshpere.

"Yes? Is there anyone else there? Alright I'll be there soon."

"Is everything alright?"I asked.

"Yeah. It's just that something came up at the company. Sorry but I gotta go. Can we go out tonight for dinner?"

"Um, I guess."

"Great. I'll text you later."

--

It felt different during dinner. I couldn't keep my face up or lock eyes with him for more than a second. Now that I know he likes me too, I couldn't help but feel nervous around him.

"Hey, I need to do something,"Mark whispered at me which shook my heart.

I looked at him and he instantly pulled me into a taxi and we arrived at a beach. The night breeze was tremendous.

Mark then took both of my hands in his and he was standing in front of me. I was nervous of what was coming, electricity flowed within our skinship.

"Kiera,"he gently called which made my heart felt warm. "In order for me to do this, I need you to help me,"he looked serious, although his eyes could be read as if he was at ease. He was biting his lips, flashing a nervous side of him.

I was even nervous. "Sure,"I answered him the way friends would. But then again, I'm not sure what we were.

"Alright, I need you to ask me like this,"he said, his voice a little shaky although not sensed. "Ask me, 'Mark, if you could give me something so valuable and hard to get, what would you give me?'", he exhaled.

I shuddered and nervousness was taking over me all over again. I looked at him in question and his eyes were waiting.

I hesitated before I agreed to do as he told me. "Mark," I started and I could feel him holding my hands tight. "If you could give me something so valuable and hard to get, what would you give me?" This time it was my turn to bite my lips.

Mark stared at me in my eyes. My heartbeat was accelerating. He looked down before he spoke, "My heart."

My heart was crying out fire before it burst into flames. I almost fell on my knees but I was able to hold myself together. I was shaking and my heart was burning.

Mark saw the expression on my face and he laughed a nervous laugh. "Will you be mine?"

"I-I," I tried to make out my words but nothing came out. It was as if it was a dream because I have never thought that this amazing scene is happening beyond my eyes. It felt like I was the female lead of a movie.

"What's your reply?"he asked again.

I nodded. "Yes?" I was quiet as he held my hands again and we walked across the beach.

It was finally time to go and before we left the beach, I instantly stood in front of Mark as we held hands. "What does this makes us then?" I asked, smiling at him.

"Lovers?"he raised his eyebrows and we laughed at our cheesiness.

--

I arrived home at nine. It was fine since tomorrow's Saturday. I dashed passed by my grandparents who were focused on the television.

Grandma called for my name but I ignored her and headed straight into my room. I won't risk my red face getting noticed by them.

I hopped onto bed and pulled the blanket over my head. I squealed in happiness and kicked my blanket. I pulled my blanket back under my neck and grinned. "Am I Mark's girlfriend now?"

That whole night, I smiled like a maniac that I forgot to change into my pajamas or just anything more comfortable to wear in bed.

Also that night, it didn't even get into my head that there might be problems or complications arising from this relationship. All I could think about is Mark, Mark & Mark. Lol, am I over reacting?

I was snapped back to reality when the door to my room was knocked. "Kiera, are you just gonna stay in your room all night? I know you're still awake."

It's Grandma! I looked into the mirror and my hair was a mess. I have been rolling on the bed for over an hour. I tried to fix my hair so that Grandma would not suspect anything.

I opened the door and she was holding a basket full of clothes. "Help me fold these and some needs to be hanged."

"Sure. Wait, how do you know I was still awake?"

"You were so loud. I'm sure your deaf Grandpa can hear you even from the living room," she joked sarcastically.

I laughed. I've always loved her accompany. "You're so mean, Grandma!" I giggled.

"What? It's the truth!"

"Well, Grandpa's not deaf but he just can't hear clearly."

"To me, it's just the same."

I laughed even harder. I started to fold the clothes while Grandma hanged some on hangers.

"By the way, what's wrong with your hair?"she asked.

"Nothing. I was just lying in bed,"I explained untruthfully.

"Okay," she nodded sarcastically.
