When I was about to step out of the hospital, I could see my grandparents outside who were getting off from a taxi.

I quickly ran outside and instantly approached them.

"Hi, Kiera," Grandma greeted.

"Hey, Grandma. What are you guys doing here?" I questioned.

"We wanted to visit your friend Mark, how is he now?" Grandpa answered.

"Well, he's alright for now. But why?" I questioned again as I did not expected this.

"Just let us see him. We'll feel bad if we didn't. You told us about what happened and I am so worried about him. If you're fine with it we would like to see him," Grandma aserted as she placed her right hand on my left shoulder.

"S-sure." I said, confused.

Mark was still asleep when we arrived in the room.

"This is my friend, Mark Tuan." I introduced him to my grandparents.

"Oh God, look at his face, poor him. It must have stung a lot," Grandma uttered, pitying him.

My grandparents then started to whisper to each other but it was pretty loud so I could hear them very clearly.

"He's quite good-looking," Grandpa started.

"I know, right? Even though his face is badly bruised," Grandma added.

"It would nice to have a grandson like him," Grandpa expressed.  Grandma nodded as a sign of agreement.

I sushed them as they were getting nosier. My grandparents giggled and Mark instantly woke up by the noise.

"Hey, Kiera," Mark said, smiling at me.

I smiled back. "Hey, Mark, sorry for the noise. We didn't mean to disturb you from your sleep. Here are my grandparents. They were so determined to see you."

Mark looked panic as he quickly tried to sit up but Grandma pushed him back on the bed.

"It's okay," said Grandma.

"안녕하세요 (Hello), Kiera's grandparents. You didn't have to come," Mark certified.

"Kiera have told us about what happened so we wanted to visit you as we were quite worried. After all, you're our granddaughter's friend. It's quite bad not to pay a visit," Grandma explained.

Mark chuckled in awkwardness. "네 (Alright, thank you for coming but you really didn't have to," he certefied for the second time.

Grandpa then put a plastic of oranges on the table. "Here, eat this and get better quickly."

I observed Mark's eyes and he looked a little overwhelmed. "Ah, thank you but you really didn't have to bring anything."

"By the way, are you Korean? Even if you are, you look like you're half from somewhere else," Grandpa asked Mark.

"I'm not Korean. I'm actually Chinese but I live in America," he answered nervously.

My grandparents then started to catechize Mark and he seemed quite uncomfortable.

I chuckled a little. "Grandma, Grandpa, I think you should go now, Mark needs to rest as well."

"Why are you rushing us? Okay, we'll go now. you should stay here and look after him," Grandma suggested.

After a few minutes, my grandparents finally left and Mark and I were left in the room again. Alone.

It became awkward in the room so I decided to break the chain.
