Finn's POV

The final day of training is upon us. The most crucial day of all, evaluation day. Today's the day where everyone will be called in for a private session that will last for around 5 minutes per tribute. We will be carefully assessed on our skills by the game-makers and then each will be given a score from 1 - 12, 1 being the worst and 12 being considered as Career level. It all starts off at District 1 and carefully going through every district until they get to District 12 after a long agonizing wait. When I walk into the dining room; Mom, Dad and Effie are talking quietly amongst themselves over a cup of tea and toast covered in soft melted butter. I leave them to talk and go off into the opposite room to find the rest of the tributes. As I walk in there is a long table covered with many food from breakfast just for us. Everybody is talking about how they are going to dazzle the game-makers with their amazing skills (or not so amazing in SOME cases). "Morning Finn, why don't you come join us?" Charlie pipes up still as happy as anything. He's been very cheerful lately ever since he met this girl from District 8 just after the tribute parade. Her name is Luna I think, she has long blonde hair down to her waist, beautiful sky blue eyes and always gives a cute smile whenever she is greeted by a large crowd. I can defiantly see what Charlie likes about her so much that he sometimes zones out into Dream World which is all about Luna.

"What's your special skill going to be then?" Harper-Lee asks.

"What?!" I reply completely unaware that someone is talking to me.

"Your special skill to show to the Game-makers during the private sessions, stupid!" He says again sarcastically.

"Well Mom would disapprove of me telling you but it's...it's bow & arrows just like Mom." I say in barely a whisper so that the adults in the other room don't hear.

"Cool, mine's swords and machetes" Harper-Lee says confidently. "I going to get some breakfast who's coming?" And he walks over to the other side of the room with a confident stride to him.

I wait until he is too busy with breakfast and everyone else before whispering, "why's he acting so much like a Career?" I turn around to ask Dale and Madge beside me.

"He thinks he can fit in with the Careers somehow by acting big and hard. Personally I think that trait is going to have him killed faster!" Dale says back in a small hushed whisper and facing away from the group so they don't get the gist of what he is saying. "If you have any sense kid and want to stay alive listen to this advice kid. Stay Away From Him!" They both say together before walking to the table and me alone in deep thought. Should I tell Mom and Dad about him or should I keep it a secret. This makes me more nervous than anything now the reality has just hit me that just because my parents have won 2 Hunger Games and a Rebellion doesn't mean I can. But I must try, try for them, try for Rose, try for the sake of District 12.

After breakfast we are all escorted down to a waiting area outside the Gymnasium. Before taking our seats labelled "12", Mom an Dad gather us in a circle and give us a brief prep talk. "Okay, the time has come, you must some them EVERYTHING! You all only have one 5 minutes shot at this no more, no less and every minute counts and you must try to pick you the highest score you can. As Haymitch always says to myself and Peeta when we were in your position, make sure they remember you!" Mom says very clearly but in a hushed voice. She takes a nod at Peeta and then leaves the gymnasium closely by his side. We all sit down in our seats and begin the long agonising wait. One by one every tribute walks in starting with the district 1 5-11 girl and making their way up. After a horrible 7 hours and 30 minutes of waiting, it's my turn to shows my skills. I walk through an enormous pair of doors and see all the game-makers in their usually place not so drunk but when they get to Harper-Lee that may not be the case. To begin my session I begin with pulling 1 of the dummies into the middle of the room, grab several paints from the camouflage station and a bow loaded with one arrow and quickly get to work. After a few minutes i've made good work of the dummy and it's nearly ready for the finale. There are several gasps and giggles from the game-makers however new head game-maker, Davius Mrethgath he is staring at me with an evil scowl. The dummy is now ready for the final finishing touches. I step back 30 metres from the dummy, bow and arrow in hand, and shot at the dummy's heart hitting right on target. Huge gasps come from above but I'm not finished yet. I bring another to dummies over and paint 2 people on them wrapping the bow around one, I then give a slight bow and leave the room. That will so them not to mess with the Mellarks.
