Let the Final Hunt Begin!

So sorry I haven't updated in about 2 months I've been really busy with going back to school and my summer work. Promise I'll try and get back into a schedule for updating. Hope you enjoy!! :)

The night was long, exhausting and sleepless. There were 5 faces in the sky that night, Ruby and Jay from District 1, Beetee and Gabbie from District 3 and Annie Odair from District 4. Annie amd Beetee were not much but they were the only friends I'd ever had since before the rebellion, besides Katniss. They had been with me through the good and the bad times such as when I was retrieved from the Captiol, still in my hijacked state, hey helped me to recover again. To be able to love my beautiful wife Katniss again. But now their helpless heap of bones lay lifeless in a coffin on their way back to their home district. I could never repay them for what they have done for me... never. I felt sorry for Annie's 10 year old son, Finnick, he now had no mother, no father both taken by the evil Capitol. Shortly after the sun began to rise. I get up and look out over the waterfall to check for tributes and anything of interest to us. As per usual the whole area looks desolate. When I walk back away from the ledge, Katniss is just waking up. She gets up immediately and smiles back at me before going over to the ledge to wash from the waterfall, quietly humming to herself as she does so. This is the happiest I have seen her in a long time, ever since before Finn was reaping for the 4th Quarter Quell. I wonder what has changed? What has given her this sudden hope in life? What ever it is I'm just happy to seen her this happy, it breaks my heart to see her upset.

Katniss' POV

I awake to the sun flooding onto the ledge behind the waterfall, where we had camped all night. I have been thinking all night about how to revenge Gale for what he has done and to save Kat at the same time. Many ideas had come to mind. Maybe I could wait until he comes for us? Maybe we could ambush him at where ever he is actually hiding? All these ideas seem so amazing and possible in many ways but I must talk to Peeta first he has to be prepared for this and have his say in this too. I finish washing myself at the waterfall then collect an apple for myself and Peeta before sitting down beside him to eat. "So any ideas on how to win this thing?" I ask Peeta before taking a bite from the apple. He looks confused and surprised at my questioning like he would never expect that sort of thing to come out of my mouth especially now but it did.

"Erm, I don't know, have you got any suggestions?" He replies as we all know that I'm the one who makes the plans around here not Peeta. I tell Peeta the ideas I came up with this morning he seems to nod at some and give a devilish grin at others. "I personally think we should ambush him, I mean he won't come looking for us, he will want us to go to him. The only thing I will suggest with that plan is we need more allies, we can't go alone."

"Okay well any suggestions on allies, there is not many people left now and allies are hard to make at this point. Bu I was thinking what about Ross from 9 and Chloe and Precious from 10. They seemed pretty keen in training I'm surely they talked to Finn a lot in the trainin stages too." I know it is a long shot but I really feel that they are the only chance we have at getting allies at this point.

That was when we got the sponsor.  We had not had many sponsors within the games and we were surprised to be getting one now but I still go over to catch the edge of the parashoot before it drifted too far down the cliff. When I had hold of the sponsor I open the small silver can to reveal a note from Haymitch and two small pots of soup. I open the note to reveal the message. It reads "Get the allies and head for the hottest and highest point within the arena. Good luck H." The hottest and highest point? Where could that be? I have not seen any sort of hills let alone mountains in this arena and the highest point I can think of is the treetop and they are definitely not as hot as the humid area constant upon us.

"Katniss, we should pack up and get going. We need these allies before nightfall and find a new place to camp out." Peeta calls over to me, already starting to pack his backpack with all his supplies. I nod and go over the my backpack and do the same. I quickly secure the rope so that we can absail down and sling my bow amd sheath of arrows across my body before I start the daunting descent to the ground. Once we are both at the bottom we start to explore the surround any for possible signs of life and a possible ally to gain. The hunt is on and we are not giving up until it is over.
