Once the lift had finally reached floor 12, we all poured out of the lift to find Effie waiting for us to congratulate us on the parade. Haymitch and Effie walk ahead showing all the tributes to their rooms leaving me and Peeta standing in the awkward silence of the Penthouse. Peeta pulls me over to the chair where I sit in his arms wishing this could all be over soon, but we all know that's one thing that we all know we would have to wait at least 6 months for now. I couldn't help thinking of our dear daughter Rose at home who must be scared out of her wits as she is alone at home with only the children's home to think about her until Haymitch gets back from the Capitol. Then through all the sadness a sudden idea comes into my head out of nowhere. "Peeta, when is Haymitch going back to District 12?"

"I'm not sure Honey, why? What's the matter? Do you think something's happened to Rose?" Peeta replies to me and starts to panic.

"Shhh, it's ok, nothing's happened to Rose, she's fine. I'm just worried that she might be a bit lost for family at the moment and if Haymitch went back early she might have a little bit of love from him." I say pulling him in closer and trying to comfort him. "I'll ask Haymitch after dinner." I keep him close to me, stroking his ashy blonde hair until the bell ringing for dinner and we go to collect the tributes from their bedrooms. During dinner all the talk was directed to the tributes, about how they think the tribute parade went, what happens next and little pieces of advice for the games. Dinner was made up of a delicious spread of soups, meats, vegetables, potatoes, a little basket of rolls either end of the table and for dessert a big bowl of chocolate covered strawberries and other fruit kept in a bowl of ice to keep them cool. Once dinner had finished we all piled into the sitting room to watch the recap of the tribute parade. It shows all the tributes one by ones in their amazing costumes and the excitement of the crowd when 12 comes out. Once the recap had finished I led Haymitch out of the room and onto the rooftop to have a quick word with him. "Haymitch, me and Peeta were wondering, when you would be going back to District 12?" I say sitting down in the place me and Peeta would always come to when we were first entered into the Hunger Games.

"When I was planning on going back after the interviews, why do you ask?" Haymitch replies with a confused look on his face.

"When the both of us have been worrying out of our minds about little Rose on her own in the Children's home in 12, and with her little brother going into the games and her parents 100s of miles away from her I think she needs some sort of family right now. The closest thing she has to family to look after her at the moment is you, so we were wondering if you could go back to 12 early therefore she could be with you until we get back plus your like a granddad she never had to her" I explain trying to tell him what Peeta and I were discussing earlier on in the day.

Haymitch looks at me before sighing and saying "OK, I'll go back to 12 for her, at least I'll get to spend some time with her that I never really get."

"Thank you Haymitch, you the best person ever, thank you soo much!" I jump up and sling my arms around him delighted that he has agreed with it all. For once I can tell he is happy to be going be to District 12, Haymitch will do anything to see my kids. I get up and run to quickly find Peeta to tell him the good news. I find Peeta in our bedroom sorting out some pyjamas for the both of us. I tell him the great news and he is happy that he will no longer need to worry about his daughter being mistreated or neglected back at home in the Children's home. We both get changed and settle down into bed for the night cuddled up to each other and trying to forget the days that lie ahead.
