Grieving for a child

The next day passes extremely slowly. Every second that ticks by feels like hours and every hour that goes by feels like days. Last night we looked to the sky to see our little Finn's face shown in the montage as well as Lucia, the ghastly Jessie, Zilflop and Gabriel from 11 and Riley from 6. That leaves around 24 of us left in the arena now so hopefully I can at least keep my Katniss alive till the end. Katniss has been totally unresponsive ever since Finn was killed yesterday. All she does now is sit in the corner of the cave, with her head in her hands, sometimes crying, sometimes staring into space. Come to think of it she does exactly like what her mother did when Mr.Everdeen (Katniss' father) died in the mine explosion a many years ago now actually. I wish I could help her or at least just do something but anything I try nowadays fails immediately. I think the only thing we can do at the moment as a couple is move away from the cave where we've taken shelter for the past 2 weeks. I mean Gale now knows that we are here and maybe even some of the other tributes too by the way everyone was constantly screaming and shouting yesterday, it is bound to have given our location away. I go over to our many supplies and transfer them all into 2 backpacks. All the water bottles are still near enough full and we still have plenty of food and medicine left as well. I put the majority of supplies in my bag and leave a few in Katniss' also I collect my sword, Katniss' sheath and bow and the remaining knifes and put them to the side ready for our departure. Once the supplies are ready I walk over towards Katniss and crouch down beside her. "Katniss, are you ready to get going away from here and find a new place?" I whisper gently to her. She slowly lifts her head until her gaze meets mine and carefully nods her head. I help her up of the floor and pass over her backpack, sheath and bow. She puts on the backpack and flings her sheath and bow over her shoulder. I collect my backpack and sword before taking a brief look back at the cave and walking outside to meet Katniss. When I get to her she doing as she usually does, staring into the sky wishing to be out of here and as far away from it as possible. "Ready?" I ask her.

"Yeah..." She sighs and we start to move on through the thick vegetation of the forest. The journey was so long and extremely exhausting.  I was very humid after a freak thunder and lightning storm last night, probably caused by the gamemakers and it is making it hard to see anything let alone find a new place to camp over the next few nights. Katniss still drags along behind me in the land of loneliness and slowly dragging me down with her now. the lost of Finn has has an enormous impact on myself and katniss and I swapear that when I next get my hands on Gale he WILL die, regardless of what he tries to say or do to stop me. Someone must go with Finn and pay the price for his death and that person is definitely going to be him.

Once the humidity and the last morning fog had past we sent on a proper  journey to find our new camp. There was many places where at the moment I think is a definite no to stay, including any trees, and caves that would bring back WAY too many memories of Finn plus I can't climb trees at all. After a few hours I think I many have found a place in which looks quite promising for myself and Katniss to stay for a while until the time comes to take revenge. There is small ledge tooked behind the waterfall far out on the edge of the arena. It's perfect just for me amd Katniss to hide away. We start the kong trek to the waterfall and eventually make it by around midnight I think it is anyway and being the short climb to our hidden ledge. I go uo first leaving Katniss to put herself up behind me and prepare to attack any that may be on the ledge. Surprisingly no one is there and there are no signs of any life either. I help Katniss climb up the rest of the rockside and then settle down in our new camp side by side and grieving for the kost of our amazing son Finn, but however dreading the terrible things that would be going through Haymitch and Effie's mind (as they were sort of like grand-parents to the kids) and the way Rose is alone in the Capitol, no Finn to comfort her and no coice but to watch her mom and dad fight for there lifes too, maybe not to make it back.

Sorry his chapter was really short, it's kind of a fill-in chapter. Will do a proper update soon xx
