Obi-Wan didn't expect to have any free time on Christmas, but plans change and Satine's in for a surprise...

"Master Kenobi, there has been a change with you current assignment. Master Unduli and her padawan will be taking your place," Mace Windu spoke, his voice monotone as usual. Obi-Wan shifted in his seat, curiously raising an eyebrow at the council's new proposition.

"Given three weeks leave you will," Master Yoda added in and if Obi-Wan hadn't been so experienced with hiding his emotions, he was certain he would be grinning madly.

It was almost Christmas, and up until the council meeting Obi-Wan was supposed to be off world fighting on the front lines. It had been years since he got a chance to fully enjoy the holidays. When Satine had asked him to come to her flat on Coruscant(which he was ashamed to say he didn't even know she had) for Christmas, he didn't want to decline, he really didn't, but he had just returned from the council meeting where he had been reassigned. He knew she was disappointed, he could feel it, but she was as good, if not better on occasions, at hiding her emotions and she refused to show it.

But now he was free, now he didn't have a war to fight. He had three weeks away, a rare occasion, and right before Christmas too! Hiding his emotions was definitely getting harder, and the council meeting had just barely begun.

All matters were addressed, and the meeting was dismissed. Obi-Wan rushed off as quickly as he could while trying to remain looking casual. Not for the first time he was glad that Anakin and Ahsoka were away, they would provided a good distraction and asked quite a few questions. Anakin always seemed to know what Obi-Wan was thinking, and it wasn't a good thing. Reaching the docking bay of the temple, he got in his speeder and rushed off to the senate district of Coruscant.

Satine had always enjoyed the holidays, in a way she'd grown up forced to love the holidays. Her family had always been festive, most of Mandalore was, and it had rubbed off on her too, not that she had a family to celebrate with, just Korkie, but he wasn't able to come to Coruscant with her. This year it was just her, no Korkie, and Obi-Wan had declined her invitation, he was on the frontlines again.

"Di'kutla jetii", Satine mumbled to herself. She worried about Obi-Wan more than she liked to admit, he never seemed to know when to take a break. "Always putting yourself in danger."

"Not always, darling," a familiar voice called from the doorway, "unless standing here counts."

"Obi-Wan!" Satine jumped up from her seat at her desk and threw herself into the Jedi masters arms. "I thought you said you couldn't come."

"Yes," he smiled and hugged her back, "but plans change. The council gave me three weeks leave."

"It's so nice to see you, Obi," she leaned forward, kissed his cheek, grabbed his hand, and lead him into another room where she let him take a seat on her couch. "I'll get you some tea?"

He nodded and she left the room in a quick stride, her dress flowing behind her. A minute later she returned with a steaming cup a tea which she placed in his hands before taking a seat next to him. "Merry Christmas, dear"

"Merry Christmas to you too, darling," he leaned forward, quickly kissed her forehead and then fumbled to grab something from his cloak."I got you something." FInding what he had been looking for, he pulled a small box wrapped in decorative paper with a small golden ribbon and handed it to her.

Satine undid the bow, slib the top of the box and gasped when she saw what was inside, a golden locket with blue stone placed on the front that was strung on a golden chain. Satine delicately held it up and clasped it around her neck before noticing a small piece of folded paper at the bottom. She picked it up and began to read:

Satine,

Merry Christmas, my dear. I'm truly sorry if I wasn't able to deliver this myself. I do hope you enjoy the present nonetheless, I saw it while I was off planet and instantly thought of you. Before I take up to much of your time writing this, I just wanted to tell you, I feel like I don't tell you enough, how much you mean to me. I love you more than you can possibly imagine. There's so much more that I could say, but I'm afraid I've become rather illiterate and, ah, I can hear Anakin and Ahsoka coming down the hall, I don't think it would good if they caught me. Remember that I love you, darling.

~Obi-Wan

Satine looked up from the note the find a furiously blushing Obi-Wan averting his gaze towards the floor. His eyes darted up to catch sight of the women sitting in front of him only to look back down when he saw her looking at him.

"Obi-Wan?"

"Yes, darling," he looked up again and kept his gaze this time.

"Thank you," she threw herself into his arms again and pressed her lips against his.

"Anything for you, my dear," Obi-Wan responded when he pulled back to catch his breath.

"I didn't think you come, Obi, I don't have anything for you," the Jedi smiled at her but she was looking at her hands. Instead he moved to cup her cheek and made her look up.

"Seeing you happy is the best present I could ever have," he replied. And he wasn't lying.

I'm sorry for the writing, it's not my best and I can only guess that theres a ton of grammar mistakes. I wrote the whole thing while I was in biology(which I do for most of my stories). Thanks for reading!
