Modern AU: Anakin didn't get the tree he wanted, to be more specific, the tree he wanted fell on top of him. Now, he has a plan on how to get the rest of the holiday how he wants it.
A continuation of day 11, after the whole tree incident.
Obi-Wan and Satine always went to Padme's house on Christmas day, it was tradition. Because of this, they also always came to over help decorate. By the time they arrived, Anakin had already pulled out a ladder and a few boxes. He was standing on the top rung of the ladder, something that Obi-Wan considered precarious, and Ahsoka was standing at the bottom, undoing the house lights. They both turned to greet Obi-Wan and Satine as the car door slammed closed behind them.
"I see you two have gotten back into your normal habit of being early," Anakin commented with a smirk.
"That was once!" Obi-Wan protested, pointing an angry finger at the younger man. Satine simply rolled her eyes from her spot standing next to him. "I'll have you know that even then I was still earlier than you usually are."
"Ya, whatever," Anakin glared. "Padme has some hot cocoa prepared inside. It's delicious."
"I second that," Ahsoka called from her tangled mess of lights.
"Do you need any help out here?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Get your hot cocoa, but I want both of you out here," Anakin smirked mischievously, and Obi-Wan knew he was up to no good.
"This is good," Obi-Wan happily confirmed after he took a sip for the steaming mug of cocoa. Satine hummed in agreement. They were sitting on the front step of Padme's house, hand intertwined as they waited for Anakin to finish hanging up the last strand of lights.
"There!" Anakin exclaimed, hopping down the ladder and back onto the ground. "How do they look?" He motioned for Obi-Wan and Satine to stand up and see, which they did, joining Anakin and Ahsoka.
The small, white lights were barely visible at this time of the day, but besides that, they did look nice, and Obi-Wan told him as much.
"Good," Anakin began to unfold a paper from his pocket. "Now for why I called you two out here."
Ahsoka gave Anakin a confused look. "Whats that," she sntahced the paper and looked it over. "You redesigned our outside lights!"
"What!" Obi-Wan leaned over and looked over the paper too. "We don't even have any of this. Anakin, we don't we just go with our usual plans."
"Because after 5 years they get boring," Anakin groaned. "We need to change things up a bit. Padme already approved them."
"I repeat, we don't even have any of these," Obi-Wan narrowed his eyes at the younger man.
"Oh yes," Anakin reached into his pocket again and pulled out the garages remote. Pressing the 'open' button, he revealed a good ten or so boxes of unopened light decorations. "Yes we do."
"Anakin," Obi-Wan rested his head in his hand. "When did you buy all of this?"
"Yesterday, after we got the tree," Anakin replied with hestition, only slight disgust at the memory of the tree he had wanted tumbling on top of him. Standing next to him, Ahsoka innocently shrugged.
"Alright, fine. We'll go with your plan," Obi-Wan sighed.
"I'll help Padme inside," Satine leaned over to quickly kiss Obi-Wan's cheek before heading towards the front door and disappearing inside.
"So," Anakin smirked and flattened out the paper. "Shall we begin?"
"What's up with Anakin," Satine questioned, handing Padme a strand of holly to be hung up along the hallway.
"He wants revenge," Padme replied, taking the holly and placing it. "How does that look?"
"A little to the left," Padme moved it over, reaching out across the wall as far as she could from her position on the small ladder. "Perfect!"
Padme stepped down from the ladder and smiled. "I like it."
"As do I," Satine smiled. "And why does Anakin want revenge."
"After the whole tree incident," Padme laughed at the memory. "He knows Ahsoka likes our classic lights, so he decided to change them."
"Of course. Though I won't lie, I do like his plans," Satine added.
"They are nice, but Ahsoka was ticked this morning," Padme rolled her eyes. "Those two are insane."
"They have Obi-Wan to keep them in che-"
A loud bang, something sounding surprisingly similar to a fire starting, came from outside, followed by Obi-Wan yelling both Anakin and Ahsoka's names. Padme and Satine both rushed outside as fast as they could to find the old lights all blown and surrounded by smoke. Anakin stood by the circuit board, his finger on one of the switches. Ahsoka was being held down by Obi-Wan, a look of anger, defiantly directed towards Anakin, written across her face.
"See Snips, we have no other choice," Anakin taunted. "The new plans it is!"
"You good for nothing, absolutely idiotic-"
Anakin pressed another switch down and a light up snowman went out in smoke. Padme and Satine exchanged a quick glance before rushing back inside, leaving an arguing Anakin and Ahsoka and panicked Obi-Wan behind.
