Once again, I'm sorry this is late. I've been very distracted today with homework, oh ya, AND THE PREVIEW FOR THE NEXT REBELS EPISODE. I swear, Maul, why. JUST WHY do you keep a bloodstained portrait of the woman you killed in a dramatic revenge plot against the man she loved. Why do you have a shrine to killing her in the first place? Anyway, on with this chapter...
Snow+Tea+Christmas+Cuddling+Obitine=Absolute Happiness
Obi-Wan woke up sprawled across a sofa. Next to him, pressing his head into the crook of her neck, lay the most beautiful woman in existence. She was still asleep, her warm breath grazing his forehead, blonde hair messily pulled back. His robe was draped over both him them, but she was still shivering, and with good reason. The fire they'd lit the night before had died out and the windows revealed a foggy landscape of snowfall. Obi-Wan smiled at the sight of it, snow was rare on Coruscant, and although it was much more common on Mandalore, he knew Satine enjoyed it too.
Carefully, making sure to not wake Satine, he untwined his fingers from hers and moved the arm she had draped across his back to her side. Standing up, he quickly kissed her cheek, and walked to the kitchen to prepare tea for them both.
Setting the water to boil, he turned back towards Satine and watched as she began to stir, pulling the robe fully around her and rolling over. When she realized than man she had fallen asleep next to wasn't there, she reached out and keeping her eyes closed, she patted the area next to her. "Obi-Wan..." Her eyes shot open and scanned the room for him. When she spotted the auburn Jedi standing in the kitchen holding two cups of steaming tea, her lips turned up in a smile. "I was beginning to think you left."
"Now why would I do that?" Obi-Wan retorted as walked back towards Satine, handed her the tea, and took at seat besides her. She rolled her eyes at him, an obvious sign that he shouldn't provoke her to continue, and took a sip of the tea. "Merry Christmas, my dear."
"Merry Christmas to you too, Ben," she replied with a quick peck on his cheek and leaned towards him to rest against his chest. Having her so close to him made Obi-Wan realize she was still shivering.
"Give me a minute, I'll be right back," was the simple excuse Obi-Wan gave as he stood up and rushed out of the room. Satine let out a groan of annoyance. She untangled herself from the oversized robe she had wrapped herself in, she had no intention of tripping in it again, and moved to restart the fire. As the flames flickered to life, she curled up in front of the fireplace, rubbing her hands together for warmth and waiting for Obi-Wan to return, which only minutes later, he did. The Jedi had pulled a coat on and was holding another one of his and a scarf, the rare exception of clothing that he besides his Jedi attire that he had acquired from missions in which he was required to go undercover. Taking a seat next to Satine, he handed her the extra clothing, which she eagerly pulled over her nightclothes.
Smiling, Obi-Wan force summoned his tea to his hand and took a sip, letting Satine rest against him. The Jedi almost considered asking if she wanted to move back to the couch, but as he watched Satine pull a blanket around them and rest her head on his neck, he realized that she was quite comfortable where she was. He let out a content sigh and pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head, certain that there was nowhere he'd rather be than with her and knowing she felt the same.
The fireplace, along with the tree they had decorated they day before, left a warm tingle and soft glow throughout the room. Silence had fallen over the Jedi and Duchess, the only remaining sound was the crackle of the fire. It was relaxing, a break from the galaxy at war that neither Obi-Wan or Satine were used to, and it left them both with heavy eyelids as they rested against each other. And there, watching the snowfall from the warmth and safety of inside, they didn't need words to express how thankful they were to have their love curled up next to them. Words wouldn't express how perfect their Christmas together had been.
