How about a random Alderaan ball?
^what a creative title
Ahsoka examined herself in the mirror. She didn't want to wear a dress, but it wasn't like she had much of an option. She, Anakin, and Obi-Wan had been assigned as protectors for Senator Organa's Christmas ball on Alderaan. They'd all been forced to dress for the occasion, and Ahsoka found it strange(and perhaps a little amusing) that Anakin was the only one not complaining.
Smoothing out the ankle length red dress she was wearing, Ahsoka made her way to the main ballroom where Anakin and Obi-Wan were waiting for her. Sure enough, the two Jedi were standing along one of the walls, ignoring the crowd of politicians.
"Hey, Snips," Anakin called out to the togruta when he noticed her approaching. "Join us in the anti-social politician free corner."
Ahsoka frowned back at Anakin. "Weren't we assigned to protect. Standing around in the back corner will do nothing. We should at least split up, right?"
"Who's the general, and master, here?" Anakin countered victorious smirk that Ahsoka was very tempted to slap off his face.
"And now you're abusing your power," Ahsoka replied, childishly sticking her tongue out at him. "Obi-Wan" Ahsoka turned to the Jedi master who hadn't bothered to jump into the conversation yet, or even acknowledge Ahsoka's appearance for that matter. When he didn't reply for a minute, Anakin grabbed his shoulder and shock him.
"Obi-Wan!" Anakin hissed.
"Huh..what," the Jedi master snapped back to attention and smiled when he saw that Ahsoka had shown up. "It's nice to see you, Ahsoka"
Before Ahsoka could reply, Anakin spoke up. "Who were you looking at?" He asked.
"What do you mean?" Obi-Wan replied trying to cover up his blush and glancing away from the area he had been looking at, but not before Anakin noticed.
He looked the way that Obi-Wan had been and noticed, standing next to Padme(who looked very exquisite in his opinion) was another woman. Her blonde hair was pulled back by a gold pin that matched her dress. She was taller than Padme, by quite a bit too, and a few years older, perhaps Obi-Wan's age. Anakin wasn't going to deny that she was attractive, not Padme attractive, no one would ever be as beautiful as Padme in his opinion, and he also could've sworn that he had seen her before. "Who is she?" Anakin asked, his eyebrows raised.
"It doesn't matter," Obi-Wan mumbled, his blush increasing as he tried to bury his head in his hands. Anakin continued to glare, Ahsoka joining in until Obi-Wan finally gave in. "The Duchess of Mandalore. Satine Kryze." Obi-Wan began staring again, his lips turning up in a small smile as he watched her. Anakin noticed and jabbed him in the ribs.
"Be mindful of your thoughts, master," Anakin laughed before walking off in Satine and Padme's direction.
"Wait, Anakin," Obi-Wan reached out to stop the younger Jedi, afraid he might say something about what they had just discussed. He eventually gave up when he saw Anakin walk up to Senator Amidala and asked her to dance. Normally, it would concern him.
Normally he would try to stop them, but at the moment he was to caught up watching as Satine smiled at Padme as she was dragged of to the dance floor by Anakin. She then walked towards a table and took a seat, ordering a drink from the waitress that passed by. Obi-Wan tried to avert his gaze, but force Satine looked beautiful. It was only when Ahsoka nudged him that he turned away.
"Go ask her to dance, master. I know you want to," Ahsoka gave him a smile.
"I can't do that!" Obi-Wan groaned, only to be pushed forward by Ahsoka. "No, no! Ahsoka, stop."
"If you don't go over there on your own and ask her to dance, I will keep pushing you!" Ahsoka snapped back.
"Okay! I'll ask her." Ahsoka stopped pushing, content with Obi-Wan's reply.
"Good luck!" She smiled and gave him a wink before turning and walking away. Obi-Wan took a deep breath and stepped forward towards the table Satine was at. Once he was close enough, he cleared his throat. He tried to keep the blush that he knew was rising in his cheeks. The Jedi had prepared him for virtually everything, but asking the woman that he had fallen in love with over a decade ago to dance was not one of those things. It took all his restraint not to run the other way when Satine looked up. Instead he offered a sheepish smile.
"Master Kenobi!" Satine didn't let her excitement show, but Obi-Wan could feel Satine's force signature brighten.
"Duchess," Obi-Wan could hear his voice waver slightly. "It's nice to see you again."
"Likewise," she responded, letting a smile creep over her face. "I've missed you Obi-Wan."
The Jedi master didn't let how she dropped his title go by unnoticed. "I've missed you too, Satine. And, uh," he may have gone over what he was going to say over in her head multiple times, saying it out loud was much harder. Obi-Wan found himself choking on his own words. "Would you, maybe....would you like to dance," he held out his hand, which Satine took.
"I'd love to," she stood up, letting her fingers curl around his own.
From the back corner of the ballroom, Ahsoka watched with a smile, her eyes darting back and forth between Anakin and Padme and Obi-Wan and Satine. They all looked so happy and Ahsoka made a promise to herself. Nothing that happened at the ball involving Anakin and Obi-Wan and their...Ahsoka wasn't sure what to call them...significant others? None of it would be told to the Jedi council. Sure attachments were forbidden, and Anakin and Obi-Wan(the Anakin part wasn't a surprise) were terrible influences on that half, but they had trained her, guided her through the war so far. She would defend them, and perhaps the politicians that they seemed to have fallen in love with too.
This takes place probably late season 1 or early season 2 of the clone wars(and is an au)
