Modern AU: Snow days aren't only enjoyed by students, teachers get the day off too, and both Obi-Wan and Satine are thankful for that.

Obi-Wan set his phone down after he finished his conversation. The message that had been delivered hadn't come as much of a surprise to him. He had seen the news and looked outside. There was no way that the roads would be open, no way he would be able to get to work.

"What was that all about," Satine called from the kitchen, walking out with Obi-Wan's coat wrapped tight around her and a mug of tea in her hand.

"Snow day, Obi-Wan replied. "We're free from work."

Satine laughed and took a seat next to him. "The roads are closed then?"

"Yes," he leaned over to kiss her cheek. "You're stuck with me, darling."

"You make that sound like a bad thing," Satine rolled her eyes.

"I'm not complaining," he smirked, "I'm rather glad you fell asleep here."

"As am I," she responded, resting her head in his shoulder. "Though," she ruffled his hair playfully and Obi-Wan groaned. Of course there was a catch, there was always a catch with Satine. "Do you know when the roads will reopen. As much as I love being here, I would like to get a change of clothes someday."

Obi-Wan chuckled, he wasn't expecting that. Satine practically lived with him, but she still kept all of her stuff at her place. As much as Obi-Wan wanted to suggest her permanently coming to live with him, he never had. "Possibly by tonight, they're unsure though."

"Well then let's enjoy the snow while we have it!" Satine grabbed his hand and pulled him off the sofa, though Obi-Wan refused to move any further.

"If we're going outside, I would like my jacket."

"I like it!" Satine tightened the coat around herself and Obi-Wan held his hand out, staring at her. "Fine," she shrugged it off her shoulders and handed it to Obi-Wan. As the walked out the front door, Satine grabbed her coat and scarf from the day before.

"Isn't it beautiful," Obi-Wan sighed, closing the front door behind him. His breath was visible, a white foggy puff. He had always enjoyed winter weather, and Satine had too.

Speaking of Satine, the blonde woman stood next to him, taking his hand and offering a warm smile as she replied, "it is."

Only a second later she disrupted the peaceful atmosphere by darting forward, grabbing a handful of snow, and compacting it into a snowball. Obi-Wan remained cluelessly stunned as she threw it at him, but as soon as he realized what happened he brushed off the snow from his jacket and joined the fight, creating his own snowball and tossing it. Satine dodged, the tree getting splattered with snow instead.

"I know you can do better, dear," Satine taunted, hitting Obi-Wan again. He frowned, grabbing a handful of snow, not bothering to make a snowball, and grabbed Satine by the shoulders and dumping the handful on top of her.

In return, Satine spun around and pushed him to the ground, kicking the surrounding snow onto him. Obi-Wan grabbed her leg and pulled her down too, pushing the snow off of him and onto her with a smirk.

"I'll get you back for that," Satine hissed, kicking the trunk of the tree they lay under, letting the snow caught in it's leaves fall, burying Obi-Wan as she rolled away.

After a minute of silence, Obi-Wan no longer visible, just a mound of snow, Satine began to worry. "Obi," she used her sleeve to wipe the snow off of his face. "Obi, are you alright."

He groaned, unburying his hand to finish covering his face before sitting up. "Remind me not to get into snowball fights with you."

Satine ignored his comment. "You're freezing," she whispered, rubbing her hands along his arms.

"You did just bury me in snow."

"Yes, I know, come on," she gave him a quick kiss before helping him to his feet. They began to make their way back to the doorway when a girl called out from the sidewalk.

"Ms. Kryze, Mr. Kenobi?" Obi-Wan and Satine turned around to find Barriss Offee, a student who was in both of their classes, watching them with an eyebrow raised.

"Ah, Barriss," Obi-Wan let out a nervous laugh as he attempted to squirm out of Satine's tight grip. The student giggled in return, pulling out her phone and quickly snapping a picture before skipping away. Obi-Wan waited until she was out of sight before unlocking his front door and walking inside, Satine still grasping his hand.

"Everyone's going to have seen that by tomorrow," Obi-Wan exhaled, taking a sip of the tea Satine had made him.

"Mhm," Satine agreed, staring into her own cup, watching the steam rise. Her cheeks were flushed red and Obi-Wan wasn't sure if it was embarrassment, the cold weather, or both. Whatever the case, he gave gently kissed her forehead before taking wrapping his arm over her shoulders.

"We've survived worse, including being buried in a mound of snow" Obi-Wan mumbled against her. Satine's lips turned up in a smile.

"That was just you," she laughed, playfully poking his arm. Obi-Wan didn't complain, he was simply content to see her this happy.

I wanted to write an Obitine snowball fight, so I wrote an Obitine snowball fight.
