Chapter 25

Emma's POV
The next day (Monday), I did my normal morning routine and headed to school. I caught up with August and went to find Killian. This is going to be our first day at school as a 'couple', and I want to know his dinner went with his father. I finally saw him and waved him over. I have him a short kiss,

"So how was dinner?" He sighed,

"You were right, he apologized. He want us to build our relationship again, but I think I need some time," I nodded. I looked down and saw his hands, they were covered up in bandages,

"Killian what happened?" He looked up,

"What?" I looked down at his hands, "Oh that, I might have hit the punching bag a little too hard," I hit his arm,

"Bloody hell I'm already injured enough," I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever you big baby, I just don't want you to hurt yourself," we kissed and stayed like that for like twenty seconds until someone came up behind Killian,

"How you doin bro?" It was Jeff, totally saw that one coming.

"Don't interrupt me when I'm kissing my girlfriend," Jeff's jaw dropped,

"You...a girlfriend? When have you ever had a girlfriend?" He started laughing. I glared at him and he shut up.

"I told you I was serious about the whole changing thing, and yes Emma is my girlfriend. I expect you to treat her with respect, got it?" Killian said, Jeff nodded,

"I got you," he walked away and Killian looked at me,

"Now where were we," he started to kiss me again. I giggled,

"Killian not at school," I said,

"I don't care, let everyone know you're taken," he kept kissing me.

"Hey Em- you know what I'll just go," I pulled away. It was Ruby,

"No don't go Rubs, we were just finished. Isn't that right,"

"More like just started," Killian mumbled. I narrowed my eyes,

"Jones don't test me," he put his hands up in surrender and we headed to homeroom. Mr. Gold called roll and was pleased to see nobody was absent. I just finished my lab when the door opened,

"Hey Dad, here's the paperwork you wanted," a strangely familiar voice said.

"Thankyou Son. Class this is my son and he will be helping out here for a while," I finally looked up. I dropped my pencil and gasped,

"Love are you alright?" I couldn't form words, the last person I wanted to see on this earth was here, in freaking Storybrooke. Just shows you how much the world fucking hates me. I felt tears spring to my eyes. I finally croaked out one word,

"Neal?"

Killian's POV
"Neal?" Emma said. I looked at her shocked, this was the fucking asshole that broke her heart. Man was he gonna get it,

"Hey Emma," he said awkwardly. Emma had tears in her eyes,

"Excuse me Mr. Gold, I'm going to the restroom," I followed her out,

"Swan wait," I grabbed her wrist. When she turned around she had tears running down her face. I know she's crying, but she's still so beautiful.

"Lass, is he your ex-boyfriend?" She nodded. I brought her to my chest and she sobbed. I stroked her hair,

"Shh lass, it's alright. Can we get back to class?" She wiped her face,

"Ya, I'll be alright," I took her hand and we headed to class. Thankfully that Neal character was gone. No one said a thing and we sat down. Finally the bell rang. I swear, chemistry is one of the most boring things on the face of the earth. I'm going to have a talk with this Neal, he messed with Emma, and nobody deserves that.

Emma's POV
I can't believe Neal is here, and that he's Gold's son! I mean what the hell! At lunch August, Ruby, Belle, and Elsa stared at me. It was starting to get creepy. I put down my sandwich,

"Okay guys, stop staring at me, it's creeping me out," it was like they were snapped out of a trance,

"Sorry," Belle said. August, Ruby, and Elsa mumbles their apologies.

"Okay, spill," Ruby said. I tried to play dumb,

"What do you mean?" August rolled his eyes,

"Come on Emma, what's with the meltdown in Gold's room?" I looked down. Elsa continued,

"Ya, and how do you know his son?" I sighed,

"He was my ex-boyfriend and broke my heart. You happy?" They immediately regretted it,

"Sorry Emma," August said. I nodded. Ruby cut in,

"Do you want me to kick his ass?" I laughed,

"Sorry Rubs, that job is taken by me. And possibly Killian," they laughed. I made eye contact with Killian, btw it's really hard to make eye contact with someone during lunch, he winked and I smiled. Although I'm not thrilled about Neal being here, at least this time I have friends.

After school Killian took me to the back of the building. He pushed me against the wall and started kissing me. I moaned and kissed him back, he took that as an opportunity to slip his tongue in my mouth. I bit his bottom lip and he tapped my ass, I took that signal to jump. I pulled away for a little bit,

"Easy tiger, we're at school,"

"I don't care," he kissed me again and I gladly returned. We kept kissing until someone cleared their throat,

"Glad to see you've moved on from me Emma, or is this just a distraction?"
Killian set me down and I put my hands on my hips.

"I don't see how it's any of your business mate, but if you must know I'm her boyfriend," Neal just laughed,

"Ya right, anyone stupid enough to date that orphan," Killian grabbed his collar and pinned him to the wall,

"Listen here asshole, you don't get to speak about Emma like that or insult her. You are worthless scum and a coward. I suggest that you leave us alone or else," Neal sneered and walked away. I touched Killian's arm,

"Thank you for sticking up for me Killian. No one's ever done that for me, and we will continue this later," he smirked and caught my lips. I pulled away while tugging on his lip,

"Catch you after practice love," I nodded.

Author's POV
Little did they know that Neal wasn't done with them. He thinks Emma doesn't deserve happiness. And he has an accomplice. And he just so happens to be someone Killian wants to forget.

My terrible day chain has finally come to an end (hallelujah) and I'm super excited now. You probably won't care, but I got a huge solo (singing) that I've been wanting and I'm so happy my hands keep shaking. And now I think I'm gonna die because my hands are shaking.
