Phoenixheart entered the camp through the tough reeds that surrounded her home with Frogpaw close behind her with three mice in his jaws, they had gone on the morning patrol with Rainpelt. Reedstorm, Splashfur, and Wavepaw. Frogpaw turned to Phoenixheart after dropping his prey into the preypile, "Are we gonna do battle training now?" He asked eagerly, Phoenixheart held back a purr of amusement, "why don't you go share prey with your littermates for now, you did a good job today." Phoenixheart meowed, glancing over to where Minnowpaw and Wavepaw were sitting.

"Okay, if you say so." Frogpaw replied, he grabbed a water vole from the preypile and went over to join his siblings.

Phoenixheart turned to go back to her den until a voice came from behind her.  "Phoenixheart!" Salmonclaw called, running up to Phoenixheart, Salmonclaw was one of Phoenixheart's closest friends aside from her sister. Phoenixheart turned around and smiled, "Hi Salmonclaw, how'd hunting go in the lakes?" She inquired, Salmonclaw shrugged, "same as always. Anyway Tealstreak wanted to see you," Phoenixheart nodded, "I'll see what she needs, maybe she wants me to help her collect herbs or something." Phoenixheart replied, she had known Tealstreak since she was a kit, and the medicine cat has always been by her side. Salmonclaw said goodbye to Phoenixheart and padded away, Phoenixheart turned and started to walk towards the medicine cat den.

Phoenixheart padded into the reed-woven den and winced and the sharp smell of herbs. I don't know how she can stand being in here all day; Phoenixheart thought. "Tealstreak?" Phoenixheart called, a small brown tabby's ears pricked in the back of the den.

"Oh Phoenixheart there you are," Tealstreak meowed turning around from where she was sorting herbs, her dark green eyes shining in the darkness. "I'm almost out of catmint so I thought you could come with me to get more," Tealstreak explained, rolling up the last herbs she had out and putting them into place.

"Oh okay, when should we leave?" Phoenixheart asked, Heatherstar recently declared that whenever Tealstreak needed more catmint she would have to bring a warrior with her. Catmint only grows in one place in the whole forest that's in GhostClan territory, but because catmint was such a crucial herb the leaders of the Clans decided that the small garden of catmint would belong to no Clan so every medicine cat could have it. Even so Heatherstar was reluctant to let Tealstreak go on her own, so she made up the rule.

"At sunhigh, I wanna make sure Thrushberry's alright once he gets back from hunting, he seemed disoriented in the morning." Tealstreak explained, "alright, I'll meet you here then." Phoenixheart meowed and left the medicine den she decided to visit Autumnpromise and her new kits. Phoenixheart and her sister had practically raised Autumnpromise when they were apprentices after her mother died, so she was like family to Phoenixheart.

"Hey Autumnpromise," Phoenixheart said softly when she entered the nursery, a dappled she-cat lifted her head from her nest and blinked, "hello Phoenixheart." Autumnpromise meowed once she was fully awake, Phoenixheart sat beside Autumnpromise's nest, "how are your kits doing?" She asked, Autumnpromise looked down at her stomach where three small kits layed, their eyes closed. She purred, "they're doing great for being so small, me and Troutshadow named them." Autumnpromise said cheerfully, though still keeping her voice low so she wouldn't disturb her kits. Phoenixheart stared at them fondly, "what are their names?"

"The lighter she-kit is Coralkit and the darker one is Shellkit,  and the grey tom with light marks is Glowkit." Autumnpromise explained, looking over them one by one affectionately. Phoenixheart purred, "those are wonderful names. I'm sure all of them will become strong healthy warriors." Autumnpromise nodded in agreement.

"You should go spend time with Maplewish, she seemed a little anxious this morning," Autumnpromise suggested, now that she mentioned it Phoenixheart did remember noticing that her sister was a little on edge this morning. Phoenixheart nodded and said goodbye to Autumnpromise before padding out of the den.

Phoenixheart loved her life as a warrior in OceanClan and wouldn't change anything about it for the world. Little did she know that one day she wouldn't have a choice.
