The words that fell so freely from his parted lips shattered every ounce of hope I had for a 'new start'.
'You don't know anything about me' I scream. I'm pretty sure half the neighbourhood would've heard that but no one seemed to appear or make a sound.
Jake looked pretty taken back by my words, i quickly yanked my arm out of his grasp and stepped away from him.
'I know plenty about you Lolita jayne Callaghan.' He snarls
What?
'excuse me?' I manage to stutter out.
'Oh yes I forgot to tell you, I know every single thing about you. Where and when you were born, your sisters name, all your previous boyfriends and even your mothers maiden name.' He stops before carrying on. 'It's a shame I know more about your mum than you do isn't it. She never gave you the time of day' He cackles at his joke that he seems to find very amusing.
Just as I was about to retaliate about how he shouldn't comment about my mother, i realised his game and my tone changed very quickly.
'You think i care?' I laugh. 'My mother is a selfish backstabbing cow who thinks the whole world revolvs around her'.
'Ooh, touchy subject' He raises his eyebrows at me.
If there weren't so many of his 'gang' members around, I seriously think I could take him down, but it's like 15 against 1 and we all know how that would end.
'It's not a touchy subject at all Jacob' I decide to use -what probably is- his full name.
'Listen sweet cheeks, I know your background. I know that you're good with this whole badass thing, but here, you've gotta step in line' He answers, drawing closer to me.
'I don't have to step in line for anyone' I answer.
'except me' He answers, just as I was about to roll my eyes I noticed how he grabbed something from the inner lining of his jacket and held it to the pit of my stomach. He was so close that probably no one else could even notice he was holding a gun to me.
'Wouldn't it be a shame if I were just to... hmm, trip?' His smirk covering half his face.
'Do me a favour and pull the trigger' I whisper, obviously loud enough for the others to hear because Ronnie screams quickly before running infront of the gun and placing her hands on both of Jakes shoulders and talking quietly but loud enough for me to hear.
'No! Remember what happened to Emily?' She paused for a while. 'Harry freaked right? Same with Sarah. What makes you think this will go down any better?' She asks him beore turning to me.
'Listen Lola, i'm sorry for bringing you here. For now just-just go home. I'll call you later okay?' I could see Jake getting angrier by the second at what Ronnie had just said to I took it as my cue to leave. Now.
But I was soon stopped when I heard Jake shout after me.
'And when she calls, you better answer, and I mean it. You can't hide for ever little Lolita'
It took everything inside of me not to turn on my heels and run, but that's what they want, they like the fact that people are feared by them and then it gives them a hold over you that takes a long time to discard.
As I was walking away I recalled what had happened in my head. what did Ronnie mean by what happened to Emily and Harry freaked out, not forgetting what makes you think this will go down any better. harry doesn't care about me, I'm sure of it!
Right now though I just want to get out of here and go see gramps.

MONDAY
it had been two days since i had spoken to jake, Ronnie hadn't called, but I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing? gramps comes home tonight and I've cleaned the whole place for when he does, I feel so guilty because I can't help but think that if I hadn't gone to that party, I would've been able to help him immediately or it might not have even happened!
After showering I slipped on some black skinny jeans, a white tank top and my navy blue doc martins. I kept my makeup to the usual; eyeliner, mascara, light foundation, but today I decided to wear red lipstick to compliment my outfit. I need to go into school making sure I look as normal, I can't look shaken up by Saturdays events. you just have to keep reminding yourself that that's what they want.
I'm not scared of gangs, god no. I've been in plenty before and nothing they do scares me. it's just the fact I don't like people owning me. I dont like the fact that the gang leader could take your life just like that if you were to step out of line or blow anyones cover.
The reason I moved here in the first place was to get away from the gang that was slowly but efficiently damaging parts of London. we terrorised innocent citizens, threatened people to do as we say, and the worst part was that I was okay with it.
As I got to school I noticed a lot if rivalry going on between each set of cliques which confused me a bit I guess.
I was about to make my way over to Ronnie considering it was just her and Sophia sat on a bench. although I couldn't help but notice a large propel bruise on Ronnie's upper cheek. before I could even get to them they both look at me and walked off.
Fine. I'll just go in by myself then.Today was wierd, it was like the first day all over again. No Ronnie or Sophia. Plus, Harry hasn't given me eye contact all day. Why was everybody acting so wierd? It was now period 7, last lesson of the day and I had Media, which I don't actually mind. Obviously I would rather be doing anything else other than this but still.
Mr Blackmore, my teacher for media. Was a short stumpy guy with big cheeks and big lensed black glasses which covered half his face. He was only as tall as my shoulder, so I guess it kind of felt cool to tower over a teacher for once, considering i'm quite small for my age.
'Ms Callaghan' Mr Blackmore called from his front desk, I looked up from my work to meet his eyes. He was probably going to comment on my lack of work for today, I was still a little shocked from yesterday. Not shaken up, just shocked.
'There's a message here for you, some..guy? He wants you to meet him by the school gates afterschool.' He shoved the paper to the end of his desk, meaning I have to get out of my seat to go to his desk to pick it up. Ugh!
'Does he have a name?' I ask whilst picking the paper up and scanning the yellow sheet.
'Jake, I think' He slid his glasses to the tip of his nose as he carried on marking some papers.
Something caught my eye in the corner of the room, a quick sharp movement. I quickly looked up, to see a boy sat in the corner, a mop of curls on his head. We caught eye contact for a second before quickly standing up and pacing over to me, snatching the sheet out of my hand.
'What the hell are you doing with this guy' he scrunched it up in his left hand before wrapping his right tightly round my wrist.
'Get off me Harry' I sighed, trying to grab the now crupled piece of paper, but he held it above his head. A huge disadvantage of being small.
'Answer the question Lola' He clenches his teeth.
'Just some guy okay' I said, pushing at his chest.
His face dropped.
'No, no no no. Please don't tell me..you and...him?' He stuttered, fingers loosening their grip around my wrist.
'No!' I almost shouted. 'God no'
He sighed, not sure why.
'Just leave my business to me thanks' I answered bluntly before taking advantage of his loose grip and pulling my wrist away.
'Lola' He calls after to me before speaking so quietly I could barely hear him and I wasn't more than a metre away. 'He's bad news, don't go near him'
I rolled my eyes and slumped back in my seat, wondering what Jake wanted to see me for, I had a vague Idea though.
