angel with a broken wing

i saw an angel

at my window

staring at me

silently

one wing

hung

broken

limp

at her side

i wanted to help

but

as i went to my door

she appeared

next to me

she put a hand

to my face

whispered

"i failed you"

two other angels appeared

"i am sorry"

she disappeared
