Chapter 21

Ross's POV:

I hear a thud at the door. Everyone acted like nothing happened. Then another thud. Much louder. "What wath that." Ruby asked. "I don't know. I'll go see stay here." I demanded. She nodded and continued coloring. I walk over to the door and see Cheese and Y/n on the floor.

"Max." I yelled. He came running. "What's wrong. Cheese." Max gasped. He went on the floor and sat next to Cheese. "Babe you ok." Max asked. He sat her up but she was still passed out. "Y/n." I asked. I did the same as Max. A piece of paper was slid under the door.

They got there memory back like we promised. They'll wake up in a few minutes. It read. I rested Y/n on my shoulder. I couldn't really hear her breathing. "Max is Cheese breathing." I asked. He put his hand up to her nose. "Barley." Max sounded worried.

I read the paper again. I hear a gasp for air it was Cheese. "Max." She gasped. "Ross." Y/n gasped. I hugged her. "What happened." I asked. "I don't think it worked." Y/n said. Cheese nodded. "Let me help you up." I said. I got up and helped y/n up.

Max did the same. "What was in the potion." I asked. "Memories. How would you know that it was a potion." Cheese asked. "They called me before you guys got back." I frowned. "Mom are you ok." Ruby asked. "Yes sweetie why are you asking." Y/n fake smiled.

Ruby shrugged. "What doeth your thail look like mommy." Ruby asked. I wonder if Ruby has a withp. "Haven't you seen it before." Y/n asked. Ruby shook her head. "Ok then why don't we go for a swim later. Mommy is hungry." Y/n smiled. "Ok." Ruby smiled.

I helped y/n to the kitchen. "Are you done eating Ruby." Y/n asked. She nodded. Y/n started eating the rest of Ruby's food.

Y/n POV:

I finish breakfast and realize how dry my skin is getting. "Lets go Ruby." I smiled. She smiles and holds my hand. We walk to the basement door. I open it and start walking down. Ruby let go of my hand. "What's wrong." I asked. She shook her head and stepped back a little.

"I don't want tho learn anymore." Ruby said. "No your done learning this is a safe place. They cant get you down here." I smiled. Ruby holds out her arms. I pick her up and carry her downstairs. "There you go." I smiled putting her down. "Thank you mommy." Ruby smiled.

I nod and smile. We walk to the pool. "You ready." I asked. "Yes." Ruby smiled. I walked in and stayed in the middle. I turn into my mermaid form. "Wow mommy your thail is longer then mine." Ruby said. "Come in." I smile. She started walking then backed out.

"Come in quick your already wet." I said worried. She got in quick enough and turned. Her tail was a shade of Red with a tint of blue. "Ready." I asked. She nodded. We headed out and started swimming towards Mako. All the animals swam away from us.

Is Ruby really that dangerous. I felt a tap on my tail I look and see Ruby. She points up to the surface. I nod and we go up. "Am I bad." Ruby frowned. "Why would you ask that." I asked. "Amara thaid the animalth are thcared then there is bad near by." Ruby sighed.

"Maybe there was a boat near by." I said. "Ith it because I'm a hybrid." Ruby asked. "Your the nicest hybrid I met so in my book your a good mermaid." I smiled. Ruby came up and hugged me. "Thanks mom." She said. "Anything for you." I sighed. We continued swimming and reached Mako.

I look and see that Ruby wasn't there. I start looking around. What if a diver found her. I see a glimpse of a tail. I swim over and see Ruby. She was trying to help a baby dolphin. It was stuck in a trap and moving away from Ruby. I rush over and help. Since Ruby was 4 she couldn't do much.

The dolphin didn't swim away. Ruby put her hand out to the dolphin. It came closer and touched her hand with its nose. Ruby looked at me and smiled. Then there was a dolphin call. I look up to see I think its mother. It swam to her and they disappeared.

Ruby and I went to Mako into the cave. "See not everything is scared of you I smiled. "Thank you mom." Ruby smiled. I smiled and gave her a hug. I started to black out a little seeing things. A room with a bed and a pool built in. "Mom." Ruby frowned. I snapped out and looked at Ruby.

Ruby started giggling. "What's so funny." I asked. "Your face." Ruby laughed. I swim to the side and crawl out. Drying off I get out my phone. I text Ross.

Y/n- Is Cheese ok
Ross- She's asleep. I think you should come back home
Y/n- Ok we'll be back in a half an hour
Ross- Be safe. I love you
Y/n- Love you too

I put my phone back in my pocket. I fall to the ground and black out. All I remember is hearing Ruby yell. Then memories start flowing through my head. Everything that happened to Ruby. She looks like a robot. People taking off her scales.

"Y/n......Y/n....Y/N." Someone says. "Ruby." I gasped shooting up. Ruby hugged me not letting go. "Y/n what happened." Ross asked. "I remember everything that happened." I sighed. Ross brought me into a hug. "What time is it." I asked. "About 9pm." Ross sighed.

"How long have I been out." I asked. "3 hours." Ross sighed. I got up and sighed. "Lets go home." Ross said. I nodded. "Meat you there." I sighed. "No your coming on the boat with me." Ross said.

"Yeah that's probably a good idea." I said. I looked at Ruby saw that she was scared. "Come here." I said picking her up. She held on tight and didn't want to let go. I kissed her cheek and walked to the stair case. While Ross and I was walking her grip got loosened.

"Ross I think Ruby's asleep." I whispered. Ross smiled and petted her head a few times. We got to the bout and stepped in it. "Here let me clear this up." Ross said. The boat had a wall in the middle. With an entrance to the front and back. The controls were on one half of the wall.

He moved the chair and put it in the back. "You can sit down here you wont get wet." Ross smiled. He put a coat in the corner since there was a spot for feet space I laid Ruby on it. "Thank you Ross." I smiled. I gave him a kiss and sat down. "Is she going to be warm enough." Ross asked.

I nodded. He started the boat and we were headed back home. Ruby scrunched up in the coat. I used my powers to heat it up. I had one hand on the coat and one using my powers so I can tell when its warm enough.
