I woke up to hearing Zayn slam the bathroom door wide open. His footsteps were heavy while he made his way to the bed.
“Ava, we need to go now.” Zayn said quietly. His hand was cold as it rested gently on my arm. I shook him off and rolled away from him towards the middle of the bed.
“Zayn, I’m tired. Five minutes please?”
“No. Come on Ava I told you this last night.”
I sat up and stretched my arms out over my head. I had slept fairly well last night considering who I was sleeping with and the noises he’d make. Nearly every half hour Zayn would get all jumpy and fidgety. He talked in his sleep too like he was mumbling to someone. But eventually it became more comfortable as I fell deeper into sleep and he had calmed down.
Zayn watched me for a second then turned back around to put his shirt on. He looked as if he had just gotten out of the shower. I sunk back down into the bed. He wasn’t done getting ready yet; I had a few minutes to close my eyes. My head rested on the pillow and the blankets were tangled around my legs. I knew I looked like a train wreck.
Suddenly something damp and soggy was pressed on my cheek. I squealed, pushing the object away then quickly rolled in the opposite direction.
“Ow! You hit me in the head!” Zayn spat. He rubbed his hand through his hair and pouted.
“You put your wet head on me!” Using the back of my hand I wiped the access water off. His hair felt weird.
“Why would you do that!” I complained. I got up from the bed and headed towards the bathroom.
“You’re up now, aren’t you?”
“I was awake.”
“Not from what I saw.”
“Good morning to you too.” I said dryly. That was uncalled for. I was already awake.
“Good morning, babe.” Zayn grinned. He shook his head as I walked by, getting more droplets of water on me.
“You don’t have time to shower and we’re going to eat at the house.” Zayn told me. He began pulling his shoes on and tucked his phone in his back pocket of his jeans.
“Okay. What time is it?”
“3:59” Zayn said. He chuckled at my disgusted look.
“You said I wouldn’t need to be up until 4:30!”
“Well I meant that we’d need to leave by 4:30. You’re quite the whiner this morning aren’t you?” Zayn raised an eyebrow, waiting for me to say something smart in return.
I was grateful that Zayn was in a good mood right now otherwise that wouldn’t have been a friendly reminder. I wasn’t complaining though. It was a fact.
“Sorry. Do I have time to use the bathroom?”
“Yes, just be quick. We need to return the room key.”
I quickly closed the bathroom door and stared at my gross appearance in the dirty mirror. I took the hair tie out of my head and attempted to tame my hair. I tied it up in a knot, hoping it looked somewhat decent. All I wanted right now was a hot shower with shampoo.

We were out of the hotel room within the next twenty minutes. I trailed behind Zayn on our way to the elevator. Neither of us said anything until we got into the lift.
“I think it’s best if I do the talking at the front desk this time.” Zayn whispered to me while pressing the ground floor button. There were three other people in the elevator with us. I looked up at him expecting to find his face hard and expressionless but a small smile was what I found.
