Three Months Later
"Hey, so I'm actually not far." Dean says, the sound of a siren being heard in the background of his location.
"Yeah?" I ask, stirring the soup on the stove, the smell of it makes my mouth water.
"Yeah, I'm about a couple hours from home. Limestone, Illinois." He says and I let out a loud yawn, it echoing down the phone.
"Are you okay? That's the third time you've yawned this call." He says and I shake my head, "Yeah, I'm okay. I just couldn't get myself to sleep last night, I couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep in... So you think you might head back this way?"
"Well, there's a case Sammy and I are working on at the moment." He explains as I begin to ladle the soup into a bowl.
"Oh, really? Need me to come and help?" I ask, switching the stove down to low as I grab out a spoon.
"No, you stay there and finish off the paperwork and stuff you need to do. Packing and what not. I'll be there hopefully to give you a hand once I'm finished." He says.
"I can't wait to see you baby." I say, dipping the spoon into the broth and he chuckles, "It's been five days."
I shrug my shoulders, "So? Doesn't mean I don't miss you. Besides, the bed is a little lonely without you..." I say, my voice going sultry.
"Really?" He says and I smirk as I lift the spoon to my lips. I take it in, but the taste in my mouth is revolting and I spit out and let out a disgusted noise.
"You alright?" He asks, concern in his voice and I nod my head, "Yeah... I made some soup but something must of been off. It tastes revolting." I push away the bowl and grab some paper towel, wiping at my mouth.
"There's probably a lot of things in that cupboard that needs throwing out." He murmurs and I glance over at it and sigh, "Just another thing to be added onto the list."
"I promise baby, I'll try and be home as soon as I can to help." He states and I smile, "As long as you come home safely, it'll be good enough for me."
"I love you." He says after moment and I blush down at the countertop, "I love you too."
I hang up the phone reluctantly and place it down on the table top. I lean my head in my hands, but the smell of the soup hits my nose and I scoff, the taste still in my mouth. I grab a glass from the cupboard and get some water to wash my mouth out.
"What a waste..." I murmur, as my eyes land on the saucepan on the stove.
I set about getting rid of it as my mind wanders over these past three months. It's been an interesting time trying to balance life between the two places. Everyone always wonders where Dean and I go when we're not here, we just said we've been travelling for a bit. But we've gotten to the point where we decided we'd tell them Dean's been offered a job across country, but we'll try and come back every couple of months or so.
So I'm here now packing up the things that need to be packed away while we're not here, tidying up and making sure it'll be nice for when we come back. But in our other world, things have gone insane. Firstly we've discovered something we never thought to consider in our lives. On our first case officially back, we discovered that different species of monsters have Alphas. We found this out when we found a baby shapeshifter, it's father coming after us to take it.
