"Hold on, explain this to me again, because I'm not sure I heard you properly." I say, veiled anger in my voice as I look at Dean with narrowed eyes.
"He was gunning for Benny, who was innocent-" He begins to argues and I shake my head, walking forward and pointing at him, "Don't you pull that with me Dean, at this moment I couldn't give two flying craps about Benny. I'm more focused on the part where you sent Sam a message making him believe Amelia was in danger in order to save a vampire."
"Benny is more than just a vampire Addison, he helped save my life." Dean says in the vampire's defence.
"I get that Dean, believe me I do. And for that I will always be grateful to him, but Sam is your brother." I state, looking him in the eye, "You tell me what would you have done if Sam did to you what you did to him? That you believed that Mary and I were in danger and you got here to find out we were okay and that he betrayed you?"
He doesn't say anything but I press the issue, "Tell me Dean."
"I would be furious." He says after a moment and I nod, folding my arms over my chest, "Exactly, you would be ropable. And to be honest, I can't believe you would do something so low."
"So you're on his side?" Dean says, sounding offended and I scoff, "Did you really think I'd be on your side for this?"
"I didn't think you'd be this angry." He says, his voice raised slightly.
I shake my head as I look at him, "You don't know what this past year was like for Sam and I. The pain that we both went through. We were there for one another as much as we could be. But raising a baby things difficult to always be there for Sam. He found comfort and solace in someone, he began to live his life again. I wasn't around when Sam was with Jessica, but if it was anything like he was with Amelia..."
Dean's eyebrow raises, "You met her?"
I nod my head, "Just once. He brought her here when I'd been here for around six months. Sam wanted me and Mary to meet her, the only family he had left. They stayed here for a couple of days and honestly, I could see something special between them. She has a sharp wit, she's smart, she's good with Mary and she was a good match for your brother."
I look at him for a long moment before letting out a breath and shaking my head, "What you did? It was bad Dean. I get you had your reasons for doing it, but it doesn't make it any better. And though I love you with all my heart, I'm really mad at you at the moment. You're my husband, but Sam is my little brother and I'm on his side for this one."
I turn away from him and make my way out of the kitchen, walking towards the ensuite attached to my bedroom. I strip off my clothes and climb into the shower, turning to the warm water. It cascades above me like a waterfall as I get swept away with my thoughts.
It's been a few months since Dean came back and a lot of things have happened. Tensions between Sam and Dean have reached an all time high, mostly due to the appearance of a vampire named Benny. He helped Dean escape of Purgatory, providing him with the method and the whereabouts of a portal back to Earth in exchange for Dean brining him across the other side. This has bonded them both, creating a solidarity between the two.
After Benny called on Dean for help with people from his past, things became awkward between the two brothers. Sam wanted to kill Benny, but Dean wouldn't allow him too. Unbelieving of the vampires intentions, Sam enlisted an old hunter friend of ours named Martin Creaser to keep an eye on Benny. Things went from bad to worse when Martin suspected Benny of murdering people in town.
