Three Weeks Later
I let out a content sigh as the warm water surrounds me, relaxing me completely. The smell of the scented candles burn in the bathroom as the bubbles pop over my soapy skin. Dean's bare chest raises up and down in a calming rhythm underneath me.
"This is nice." I murmur, feeling like I could fall asleep any minute.
"You're telling me." He says, nuzzling his face closer into my neck.
I smile as I tilt my head back, pressing my lips to his soft ones. Things these past few weeks have been insane to say the least. After the whole ordeal of Sam running off, they came back and explained to me that Sam knew the kitsune from when he was younger. She apparently saved his life from her mother by killing her. Apparently she was killing the humans in order to feed her dying son, a way to fix him. Much to Dean's frustration and instincts, they let her live if she promised to never kill again.
Not a couple of days later Dean was captured by the Egyptian god Osiris, who put him on trial for his guilt. He called upon witnesses from his past in order to try him, one of them being Jo. I don't know the full story, but apparently he was tried and Jo was sent to kill him. But much to my relief, Sam saved him just in time by killing the god.
In what seemed like a momentarily lapse from our crazy lives, the Leviathan front come roaring back. After capturing a Leviathan, we set about trying to figure out a way to kill them. But not without a whole set of problems to deal with at the same time. Two Leviathans were impersonating Dean and Sam, committing mass murder robberies in the towns that they've worked cases in. While they went off to stop those two, Bobby and I stayed behind to try and learn how to kill the Leviathan.
In the process, Jody Mills turned up to say thank you for us saving her. She offered to stay for the night and cook us meal, which we were both grateful for. We were also most grateful for her discovering how to kill the Leviathan, well at least stop it. Bobby found that decapitating them would stop them, but after she spilled cleaning fluid, we found that anything with borax in it will melt their skin like acid. We explained this to Sam and Dean, who were arrested after getting caught. The local sheriff helped them take down the Leviathans and declared them dead once more.
However, in amongst this particular case, the Leviathan impersonating Dean revealed to Sam that Dean had in fact killed Amy, the kitsune Sam befriended when he was younger. Sam left, unable to stand being near Dean after his betrayal. I was also pretty angry with him myself, that he would betray his brother like that. But I also understood why he did it, which helped ease my anger. But after working a case they both happened to find, Sam decided to come back.
All of this was so stressful that we couldn't help but be ecstatic that our annual holiday came up. Once a year, the three of us head to Vegas as a way of unwinding and forgetting about our issues for a week. After being locked up in the cabin for weeks on end and having absolutely nothing to do, it's been a god send getting away from it all.
"I still can't believe Sam went off on his granola-munching hike in the desert." He mutters, breaking the tranquility in the room.
"Dean." I say in warning, not in the mood to hear him go on about this again.
"I'm sorry Addy, but who goes off on a hiking trip when he could in Vegas?" Dean asks.
I clench my jaw as I open my eyes, "Dean, can we for five minutes just relax and not worry about everything else going on? This might be our last time together alone before the baby comes."
