Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.
My eyes open and look towards the ceiling, staring blankly at the soft white colour of the plaster. My heart weighs heavy in my chest, a common occurrence on this day. I don't want to get out of bed, I just want to lay here and wish for this day to hurry up and be over. I look over towards my phone and let out a sigh before reaching over and grabbing the phone. It's a message from Dean.
I'm sorry I couldn't be there to be with you today. Just know that I love you and you can get through today.
I give a small smile at the message before typing a quick reply, Love you too xxx
Putting the phone back in the nightstand, I turn back up to the ceiling. The familiar grief comes over me and I feel a tear form in the corner of my eye as I remember back to that fateful day.
Fear runs through my veins as I cower away from the monster that makes it's way towards me. My heart is pounding in my chest as tears fall down my cheeks, my whole body shaking.
"Please..." I beg as I hit up against the wall.
It's evil eyes twinkle at my fear, at the horror going through me. I have blood on my hands, my clothes, my shoes that are being treaded through my home. Blood surrounds the mouth of the creature that looks exactly like my mother. But it's not my mother. This is a monster. A monster that killed my father and is now about to kill me. It stops in front of me and hisses, a sinister smirk on its face.
"Get ready to see Mommy and Daddy, Addison."
I cower away and raise my arms above my head as it reads itself to kill me. Then I hear a weird slashing noise and I'm covered with something. I pull my arms away from my face and look forward with horrified eyes. The monster with my mother's face is no longer there, instead her body lady on the ground, her head detached from her head.
I look up and see a man standing there, a bruise around his eye and a machete in his hand. I go to scream but he steps forward holding up his hands, "It's okay, it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm not going to hurt you."
I press up against the wall, afraid for my life as I take in the man before me, "Wh-Who are you?"
"My name is John. John Winchester." He says, holding up his hands in a non threatening manner.
"You... You killed my Mom." I say shakily.
He shakes his head as he looks me in the eye, "I'm sorry, but that was not your mother."
"What was it then?" I say, not looking away from his eyes.
"It was a monster. A ghoul." He explains, causing my eyebrows to furrow together in confusion, "But monsters aren't real."
"I'm sorry, but they are. I hunt them, kill them." He states and grow more confused, "You kill monsters. What are you? Some sort of superhero?"
The side of his mouth twitches up and he shakes his head, "No. I'm not a superhero. I'm a hunter."
I'm quiet for a moment as I try to process it all, but it instead just spins my head. I look towards the body of the monster... The ghoul and a question comes to mind. I look towards John, "If that's not my Mom, then where is she?"
His face falls and he looks at me sadly, "Dead."
I let out a sob, my hands flying to my mouth as I stare at him with wide tearful eyes. I try to not believe it, to believe that this is just some horrible nightmare that I can't wake up from. But it's all too real, I can smell the rusty smell of blood reaching my nose, the feel of the wall behind my back and the absolutely agony in my chest. My legs give out from under me and I fall to the ground, letting out a sob as I bury my head into my hands.
