Erin and Jay sat in the living room watching a movie, a romantic one. The Choice.

Jay and Erin looked at each other, eyes locked on the other's. Jay leaned in for a kiss, but at the last second, Erin turned her face, allowing Jay to only kiss her cheek.

Jay picked up the remote and paused the movie. "What's wrong?" Jay asked.

"I'm just thinking," Erin stated.

"What are you thinking? What's on your mind?" Jay responded.

"What if... what if I have a miscarriage? What if..." Erin started.

"Ya know, I thought about that when you first told me you were pregnant. But then I kept thinking. When we got together, the plan wasn't to get married and have children, they weren't even thought of yet. When we got together, the plan was to see where us being together could take us, for us to get together and let our love grow and strengthen. And eventually, if we got married, great! And eventually, if we had children, great! If not, great! I don't love you because you're gonna bear my children. I love you because you are the strongest, bravest, most caring person ever and if we never have children together, it won't change anything. I'll still love you. I don't care if we're unable to have children. I don't care about any of that, I won't love you any less. And if we do, there will be more love to spread." Jay smiled, "Okay...?"

"Okay. Thank you, I needed that. I love you, now let's finish this movie." Erin smiled, kissing him and leaning into him, turning toward the t.v.

"I love you, too, Erin." He pressed play and wrapped his arm around her.

Before the movie was finished, both of them were asleep.

When morning arrived, Jay woke up and looked around. He looked at Erin who was sleeping on him, and moved the hair off her face. "Erin, hey, it's morning." Jay woke her up.

"Hmm?"

"It's morning." Jay repeated.

"Already?" Erin sat up, "we should do that more often. At least we're off today."

"True, and yes, we should. I slept like a baby," Jay stated.

"Me too." Erin smiled, kissing him.

"We have to go get groceries today," Jay informed.

"Can't that wait?" Erin asked, pushing him down on his back.

"I guess so," Jay chuckled.

They also had an OB/GYN appointment that day, so they headed to that after buying a couple groceries.

"So are you excited?" Erin asked.

"For what?"

"To see our baby for the first time." Erin replied.

"Of course I am, ya know what I can't wait for, though?" Jay asked.

"Huh?"

"The day we get to hold our baby in our arms for the first time, it will happen, I'm sure of it, and it will be one of the greatest days of our lives." Jay kissed her.

"It will be." Erin responded, "We better get going, don't wanna be late, now do we?"

"Nope, we don't."

They got in the car and headed over. On the way over, as they crossed an intersection, a truck ran a red light and slammed right into Jay's door. The car flipped once and then slid to a stop, knocking Jay and Erin unconscious.
