You guys can thank @chicagopdbabes for this update! Happy Birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day and I also hope that this makes your day! Stay happy and have fun! And, as you requested, an update for you as you wake up. Without further ado...
After 10 months of living without Erin, he'd finally gotten back to himself. He'd gotten his kids back, and as Erin requested, told them she loved them every day. He stopped drinking and went back to his day job.
Will used to knock on the door before he entered Jay's apartment, but since he was a regular there now, he didn't have to. And Kate stayed in the guest bedroom because she'd been evicted from her own apartment for not making payments. She was out of a job and had no income. Luckily for Jay, he had found his new babysitter.
The opening of the door gave Kate a scare, she was making coffee in the kitchen when he'd barged in. "Thanks for knocking!" Kate teased.
"Only the best for my siblings. Speaking of siblings, where is that knucklehead of a brother?" He asked.
"Still sleeping."
"It's 7:30 and he's still sleeping? What's up with that?" Will questioned.
"He had a long night last night. Kota wouldn't sleep and Lyn wasn't feeling good," Kate explained.
"How are they now?" Will asked.
"Well, Kota is sleeping, and Lyn seems to be fine now. Her fever went down," Kate stated.
"I'll check her out before I go, make sure it's nothing too serious," Will offered.
"Thanks," Jay yawned from behind him.
"Anytime sleepy-head."
"Listen, Kate, I know it is my day off, but I want to go get a haircut, do you think you could watch Kota and Lyn?" He begged.
"Of course, Jay. Get rid of that scruffy hair," Kate joked as she walked past him, messing it up.
"Thanks, sis. You're so kind," Jay patted his hair down.

As he was sitting in the barber shop, waiting to pay the woman who had just cut off most of his hair, leaving him with a faded hair cut, he watched a woman walk by. Her body build and hair looked exactly like he'd last remembered Erin. Even after 10 months of coping, he'd still jumped at the chance to find her, so when he saw this woman, he dropped a fifty on the counter and ran out chasing after her.
"Erin! Wait!" He called out. Finally, he caught up to the woman, and when he grabbed her shoulder and stopped her, he sank. It wasn't her.
"What are you doing?" She asked, disgusted.
"Sorry, I thought you were someone else, again very sorry," he apologized as he walked away, disappointed.
He wanted to grab a beer on his way home but shut himself down and instead stopped at a gas station and bought himself a soda.
He headed home afterward and sat down on the couch. He had gotten a text a few minutes before that told him Kate was taking the kids out to an amusement park for the day.
He laid down on the couch and put on a movie. He'd decided he was going to watch the movie called IT. The one about the clowns. Yeah, he was a bit terrified of clowns before the movie, but he knew, after he'd finish it, he'd be terrified. So he still put it on.
Halfway through the movie, he got a major craving for pizza so he dialed the number and ordered a large Meat-Lovers pizza with a CocaCola and some parmesan bites. Yum! 10 minutes later, he heard a knock and paused his movie. He grabbed the money that was sitting on the counter and ran over to the door to answer it.
When he opened the door, he knew right away it wasn't pizza.
Her beautifully dyed blonde hair sat perfectly on her shoulders, her bright smile shining.

Kate got in the car and looked back to make sure the two lovely kids were safely secured and after double checking, buckled herself up. She started the car and headed towards the hospital to go have lunch with her brother when she got a call. She pulled over and answered her phone.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Kate, you need to get home, Erin's here. You're gonna wanna see this!" You could hear the excitement in his voice.
"What is it?" She asked.

Natalie's phone rang at work. She answered it, and when she heard who it was and what the call was about, she ran over to Will and explained it to him.
"Are you serious?" Will asked.
"Very, let's go!" Natalie ordered. They both explained the emergency and left the hospital.
Even though both Kate and Will's routes would've taken at least 10 minutes to get to Jay's apartment, they were there fairly quickly, within minutes. They met each other at the front steps of the building and conversed for a few seconds and then darted up the steps and into the apartment.
And sure enough, Jay was telling the truth. She was there.
