The next day, the doctor decided to release Erin from the hospital. Mostly because she would not leave him alone about it, but also because she was nearly healed up. Fortunately for her, she heals quickly.

As they sat in the parking lot in Jay's car, Erin and Jay didn't speak.

Breaking the silence, Erin quietly asked, "Jay, can I ask you a question?"

"Shoot," He replied.

"If we'd never had Kota, if we'd never had Lyn, do you think we'd still be together? Do you think we'd be married right now?"

He sat there for a moment, baffled by the question. Then, his mouth finally opened, releasing one word, "No."

"No?"

"You heard me, no," he repeated. "If we hadn't have had Kota, I don't think we'd be married right now. I think, that we would be divorced. Separated. Angry. Resentful. But luckily, we have Kota. Luckily we have Lyn. Without them, the journey was pointless. And I love the destination because, in that destination, I have you."

"Jay, seriously," Erin frowned. "Would you still love me if I'd never gotten pregnant?"

"I am being serious, Erin. I LOVE YOU. I've always loved you. From day one. You wanted to drive, and ever since then, Erin, you have driven me to be more. To want more, and I will always love you for that. And I always have," He grabbed her hand.

"Would you be mad?" Erin asked.

"Mad? At what?"

"If I couldn't do this anymore," Erin sighed.

"What's wrong, Erin?"

"Nothing, sorry I ever bothered you," she covered up her frown with a smile, "let's go home!"

"Okay, you sure?" He responded.

"Positive!" Erin cheered falsely.

A/N: Sorry it's so short! I just started school and just celebrated my birthday, so I was spread all over the place! I'm also sorry that it's late, but it's up. I'll make the next update longer because this one was sadly short.
