Jada
A wide smile crossed my lips as we pulled up to the new house. I parked the truck then helped the kids inside. My cousin, Malcolm who lived near by pulled up and got out the car. He pulled me into a big hug and kissed my forehead before bending down to pick up a box.

Lani and I each grabbed a box of our own then went inside, it took us about 3.5 hours to bring all of the boxes inside. I let out a sigh of relief before lookiing at the second truck that contained the furniture.

"Y'all don't even gotta worry about that," Malcolm said pulling out his phone. "I'm going to make a couple calls and your furniture will be in the guest house."

"Alright, I'll start unpacking." I said going into the kitchen and opening the box of plates.

"I'll start unpacking the boxes of books in the living room." Lani saud going into the kitchen.

After we finished unpacking. we put on the kids jackets and prepared to walk to my grandparents' house, their house was on the land behind ours but, it was separated by a thicket of trees and thorny bushes. I looked over at Lani who was carrying Justice while I carried Aj.

"Hi baby." My grandmother said once we were inside.

"Hi grandma." I said hugging her.

"Nana." Justice said as Lani put her on the floor.

My grandmother gave her a hug and walked over to give Aj a hug.

"Are you guys hungry?" She asked already walking into the kitchen.

"Yes ma'am." Lani and I said at the same time.

We followed my Nana into ther kitchen and helped her fix plates, I sent her into the living room so that she could relax while Lani and I got the kids settled in. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket but, I didn't dare to look at it.

When we finally got home, the guest house light was still on. I helped the kids get ready for bed and we all got in the California king that was in the master bedroom and started watching Shark Tales.

I looked over at the clock that was hanging on the wall, I picked up my phone and was about call Jada but, I quickly decided against it. She was probably asleep or giving the kids a bath.

The doorbell rang, I got off the couch and went to answer it. Chris opened the door and walked past me.

"Tomorrow morning we're going to South Carolina." Chris said putting his duffel bag of clothes on the couch.

"Why?" I asked taking a bite of my pizza.

"So we can go get your stuff from Jada."

"When are we leaving?"

"First thing tomorrow morning."

"What? South Carolina isn't that far."

"Don't pretend like you don't want to spend as much time as you can with Jada and the kids."

"Man it's not even like that, Jada is cool."

"So if Jada was to come here right now and ask for it you wouldn't give it to her?"

"I didn't say all that."

"Exactly now go to sleep so we can leave early."

I nodded and laid down on the couch and went to sleep while watching Full House.
