Omniscient
The nurse came into the room prepared to take Jada to get her blood work done. Jada followed without a word. After Jada got her blood work done she was escorted back to her room."How was it?" August asked when she walked back into the room
"It was fine." Jada said crawling back into the bed.
"Are you hungry?"
"No, I'll be fine."
August stood up and walked out of the room. He drove to a near by bakery and got a Cinnamon Knot and a small cup of tea. He went back to the hospital and handed it to Jada. She looked up at him then rolled her eyes.
"I'm not hungry." She said turning her back towards him.
"Well, you have to eat something."
"I'm not hungry."
"Can you at least eat a little bit...for me?"
"No, I'm not hungry."
August sighed as he rolled his eyes, he pulled out his phone and started searching up her symptoms. The first thing on the list that caught his attention was 'Fear or other emotional trauma', he looked over at Jada and suddenly felt guilty.
"Did something happen at that house?" August asked, he was desperate to get answers even if that meant stressing her out even more.
"Why do you care so much?"
"Because I-"
"Because what?"
"Because I-"
"Jada I have so good news and some bad news."
"Did something show up on her test." August suddenly feeling weak himself.
"I'm a doctor sir, not a miracle worker." The doctor said chuckling.
"So what's the bad new?"
"The bad news is nothing seems to be wrong with you?"
"Isn't that good news?" August asked with a puzzled look on his face.
"No, since nothing seems to be wrong, they have to run more tests to figure out why I passed out, which means I have to stay here longer so they can keep an eye on me." Jada said looking over at August to make sure he was alright.
"How long will she have to stay here?" August asked sitting in the chair by her bed.
"We can't know for sure unless her tests come back that there's nothing wrong."
"And what if there is something wrong?"
"Depending on what it is we will do our best to make her better."
"Thanks. So what's the good news"
"The good news is, there were no injuries as a result of you passing out."
Jada nodded her head then reached for the bag that August was holding, she opened it and started eating the Cinnamon Knot.
August
"I thought you weren't hungry?" I said smirking as I watched Jada eat."I wasn't at the time." She replied reaching for her purse."
She untangled her headphones and plugged them into her phone. She started playing a game on her phone. I turned the TV to Nick and a SpongeBob marathon was on. I looked over at Jada to see her phone on the nightstand.
"Jada?" I whispered loud enough for her to hear.
"What? I'm trying to sleep." She answered back with an attitude.
"Sorry, I was going to tell you that I was about to head out."
"Are you going to meet your little girlfriend?"
"Nah, I was going to stop by the house and get a few things."
"Can you pick up a couple outfits?"
"Sure. I'll be back as soon as I can."
Jada nodded as she took a sip of her tea. I walked out the door and went out to the parking lot. I got in the car and drove to the house.
I got out the car and went upstairs, packed a duffel bag for Jada, one for Aj, one for Justice and one for myself. I brought the stuff out to the car and put it in the trunk.
I got in the drivers seat and pulled off. I wasn't ready to go back to the hospital just yet. I still had a lot on my mind. I drove to a little diner and went inside. I ordered food for myself and the kids then went back to the hospital.
I walked inside to see Chris sitting in a chair sleep with Justice sitting next to him talking about everything under the sun. Aj was sitting on Lani's lap trying to stay awake.
"Are you guys hungry?" I asked walking towards them.
"Yeah." I sat Justice on my lap and opened the bag.
After we finished eating, I followed the doctor to the room where Jada was and sat on the edge of her bed.
"August when did you get back?" She asked waking up from her sleep and moving her leg.
"I've been in the hospital for about half an hour but I just came in the room about 2 minutes ago."
Jada nodded her head as she sat up. It was evident something was on her mind. I looked at her and smiled, I stood up and walked over to her. I leaned in and kissed her soft lips. She gasped and pushed me away.
"August what are you doing?" She asked wiping her mouth.
"I've been wanting to do that for a long time." I replied nervously looking down at my shoes.
I felt embarrassed, I picked up my jacket and put it on. I opened the door and started to walk out.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm sorry. I'll be back later."
I walked out of the hospital room with my head down. I closed the door behind me and walked out to the parking lot not looking back. Chris followed me outside and brought the duffel bags inside without saying a word.
I got in my car and drove back to the house to pack the rest of my stuff.
