Jada
"Are you ready to go home?" Lani asked picking up my duffel bag."Yeah. I'm sick of hospital food." I said putting on my sneakers.
I grabbed my duffel bag from Lani and followed her out to the car. I got in the passenger seat and closed the door. My phone began vibrating in my purse, I unzipped it and pulled out my phone. It was August, I answered it then I put it up to my ear.
Hello?
Stay away from my man!
Who the fuck...Who is this?
All you need to know is to stay the fuck away from my man.
I don't have time for this.
I hug up the phone and called Chris.
Hello?
Chris!
Yeah?
Where's August?
He's right here.
Does he have his phone?
I don't know let me ask...Aug do you have your phone?...He said no.
I don't have time for this shit.
Jada? It's August, why are you asking about my phone?
The more important question is why YOUR girlfriend is calling me talking reckless?
Jada I swear I didn't know anything about this.
I hung up on him without giving him a response. I turned my phone off and put back inside my purse.
"What was that about?" Lani asked pulling up in front of my grandparents' house.
I got out the car and walked up to the porch. I knocked on the door and patiently waited for the door to open. The door opened and to my surprise August and Chris were sitting on the couch playing with Justice and Aj.
"Jada can I talk to you?" August asked setting Aj down on the couch.
"Not right now." I said closing the front door. "Justice go get your stuff."
"Your friend came by looking for you." My Nana said coming into the kitchen with a tray of empanadas.
"What friend?" I asked taking the tray from her and setting it on the coffee table.
"The one from LA, I think he said his name was Casper."
"Casper?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, you know like the friendly ghost."
"What did he want?"
"He just wanted to see how you guys were doing."
"Of course he did." I mumbled rolling my eyes.
