The next day, I got out of the bed and opened my duffel bag. I grabbed my scented lotion and body wash then went into the bathroom to get washed up.

There was a towel an rag sitting on the edge of the sink. I turned on the shower water and I stared at myself the mirror for a moment before closing and locking the door.

I stepped into the shower and began washing my entire body. There was a knock on the bathroom door.

"It's Dr. Williams." A familiar voice called.

"What?" I called unsure if I heard her correctly.

"It's Dr. Williams. I brought you some hospital clothes they're on your bed."

"Ok thank you."

I finished up my shower then wrapped myself up in my towel. I peeked out into the hospital to see if anyone was there. My outfit was folded neatly at the foot of the bed. I put lotion on then put on my undergarments then slipped the hospital gown over them. I put my stuff back in my bag then went put the hospital gown in the hamper by the door. I sat on the edge of the bed, I picked up my phone to call Lani when the door opened and she walked inside.

"Hey sis how ya feeling?" She asked putting her purse down on the bed and giving me a hug.

"I'm feeling better than yesterday but, I would feel a whole lot better if I could see the kids."

"Chris is taking them to get something to eat."

"Did they already get washed up?"

"Yeah, I took them home and gave them a bath."

"Thanks, you're the best aunt/godmother ever."

"I know."

"You're supposed to say thank you."

Lani her eyes before speaking.

"It's not a compliment, it's the truth."

"Conceited much?"

"Not really." She replied laughing as she threw her arm around me.

I looked at her and I couldn't help but laugh, it was good to see that she was back to her old self again. If only I was as strong as she was, it's only been a few days and she's acting like nothing ever happened.

"Maybe it's all an act to keep me from worrying about her." I thought to myself as I leaned into her shoulder.

The door opened but, instead of Chris and the kids walking in it was Dr. Williams with my original doctor behind her. Lani and I exchanged a look of confusion.
