"Choji!" I squealed. "This tastes amazing!" I wiggled around in my chair and almost fell off. At 22 I still acted like a little kid.

Choji was coming up for a new recipe for a sauce and I was sitting on his island in his kitchen watching him get frustrated. After an hour he finally made this right.

Choji blushed. "You're embarrassing me."

"I'm just glad you ended up becoming a chef." I said. "And a successful one at that." I added.

Choji's parents almost flipped when he said he wanted to become a chef and own restaurants. His dad ignored him for a year. It was so bad Choji went through a depressed state.

However he used his successful business background to bring his dream to life. He now owns a couple restaurants here in LA and a cafe in New York. They became so famous that A-listers have made them there go to.

After a while his parents saw the success and finally realized that Choji did have potential especially with the money he was making. His dad still pestered him about finding an elite wife so that hasn't changed.

But the best part is that I get to eat free in any of his locations! I was on a list that made me special. I almost cried with tears when Choji told me this.

As a journalist in LA I needed all the free I can get.

But come on I'm not that cheap. I actually make a decent living writing for a fashion magazine called CHIC. I loved my job and so did my mother. She was now living comfortably and happily with my sister in our home I paid fully.

It's such a relief to have your own money and be wholly dependent on your self because you don't have to bend for anyone.

Hard work sure does pay off.

Choji laughed. "I'm still surprised that you studied fashion journalism. You were such a tomboy and dressed like a tras-"

"Shut up." I grabbed a nearby rubber spatula and hit him.

"Ouch." He glared at me. "Well this sure didn't change." He narrowed his eyes at me.

"Sorry." I smiled. I looked at the clock it was 7pm in the evening and the sun was getting ready to set. "I'm going to be heading out to get groceries okay?" I remembered my mother said we ran out of some vegetables.

Choji took off his apron. "Oh I need to as well!" He ran upstairs to get his wallet and came back. "Ready."

I narrowed my eyes and folded my arms. "Forget something?"

He looked at me. "Oh right." He smiled guiltily. He ran to the kitchen to turn off his stove.

Choji has this problem where he cooks and sometimes forgets to turn off his stove or forgets to put the food back in the fridge. Or even forgets to close the fridge. It is still amazing that his dumbass is still alive.

We arrived at a shopping center. I loved this area because it had the best stores around. Anything general you'll need it will be here.
