Amir was clearly angry at the incident, still. He sat in his office chair glaring at the aesthetically pleasing vase on his table. I could see his seething anger glow out of him as he kept his hands tied together calmly.

It was typical Amir. When things don't go right, he likes to fume over them and act dramatic. I told him it wasn't my fault but obviously he won't stop clenching his jaw and forcing his eyebrows together.

The good thing about this day was that it was almost over. I got to pack up my bags and finally got to leave work. It's as if the more I see Amir, the thinner the air around me feels.

AMIR

Everyone is coming to me carefully. I can see that they are scared to ask me what's wrong.

And I bet Malak thinks I'm mad at the water incident. But I'm not.

I'm just angry that I -unfortunately- found out Hanif lives around here.

Was he the one that took Malak's hand? I fumed at the thought.

Who in the hell was Malak married to?

MALAK

"So I saw the interview." Choji snickered. "It was bad."

I closed my eyes to help deal with the embarrassment. "I know."

Choji laughed. "He must be pissed right now."

I nodded. "You should have seen him." I laughed.

Choji raised his brows. "Now don't you love birds get too close." He wagged his finger as if he was parenting me.

I sighed. "Choji I told you, I'm not in love with him anymore." I said or most likely lied.

Choji folded his arms. "Right," He shook his head. "I'll belive you." He said sarcastically and I just rolled my eyes.

"Plus," I added, "He seems like he has a girl." I mumbled.

Choji looked at me. "What makes you think that?"

I shrugged. "Well he's Amir Khalid. He can't just simply ignore the girls that are dying to be around him." I knew my guess was at least accurate but the pinch in my heart doesn't seem to like the idea that Amir might actually have a wife or fiancee. Or even be interested in anyone but me. I scoffed at that idea.

The next day I got an interesting message from Choji while at work about an old friend. And by friend, I mean an enemy of the past turned friend of the future.

It was Hanif. And he's surprisingly back into this area.

It was weird I tell you but I guess the world is smaller that we seem to think?

Choji is planning to go welcome him later at  a nearby restaurant and I will just tag along because I didn't want Hanif to still think I hated his guts even though I technically don't anymore.

"Okay I'll see him later." I said as I quickly ended the call. Choji called to also confirm that I was going because he simply couldn't go on his own.

"Go where?" Amir suddenly spoke from behind me and I whipped around clutching my phone.

I looked at him. "Oh it's nothing." I shook my head.
