Amir smiled innocently. "I'm here to eat, like everyone else."

I put my hands on my hips. "Are you sure it's not to get me fired again."

Amir chuckled. "You did that on your own."

I was so irritated by now that I wanted to punch him. "No." I gritted. "That was you remember?"

Amir shook his head. "Nope." He said casually.

I sighed. "You know what? I'm going to be professional and just get your order." I pulled out a pen and a notebook. "What would you like sir."

Amir smirked. "You."

My face went straight red. "Amir." I glared at him. "Stop being stupid."

Amir chuckled. "You should take a look at your face."

"I'm not even-" I began but then I heard my name.

"Malik?" I turned around to see Kareem nearing me.

"You have got to be kidding me." Amir whispered discreetly.

"Hi." I greeted him even though I was feeling awkward. The last I saw him didn't really end in a good way. It was just weird. I don't know what he's taking me as. Does he think I'm interested in him?

"You work here?" He asked, curiosity was definitely evident in his tone. I wondered if he was slightly offended that I never took up his job offer.

"Yeah, for now." I smiled. Kareem was actually a sweet guy.

"That's great." He smiled back. "I'm glad you found a good place to work. I actually love getting coffee from here." He explained.

"Oh do you want me to get you a cup of coffee?" I asked because he was here anyways and he came for the coffee.

"Sure, that would be nice." He nodded. "I'll take a small of the dark brew." He added.

"Sure thing." I smiled. "You can sit in this table." I ushered him to a table behind Amir's.

Amir didn't look to pleased even though he smiled when Kareem noticed him and shook his hand. I honestly thought they were friends. Well knowing Amir, he didn't really know how to make friends or even if he had any.

They chatted for a while until I got Kareem's order ready to go. I handed to him and thanked me, but didn't leave. I found it slightly odd but I brushed it off.

"So is it my turn?" Amir gritted as I passed by him. I had forgotten about this sour customer.

I put a fake smile on. "Oh hello sir, your order was?" I asked politely.

"I'll a cup of coffee as well." He spoke.

"What kind?" I asked, ready to jot it down.

"You know what kind." He smirked and I rolled my eyes. He said it so loud that Kareem began to eye me and Amir.

"Oh you mean loudmouth dark roasted coffee?" I shot back.

Amir frowned. "Close enough." He then winked which caught me off guard.

What the hell is Amir trying to pull today?
