*****

As soon as I arrived at the airport that Amir was supposed to be at, I panicked!

There were so many people and I couldn't spot him.

After jumping up and down to see the tops of the crowd, I was pretty certain I saw Amir's head but he was far away. Almost hidden between the overwhelming sea of people.

How did I know? Well he was the only one who looked like he carried a million dollars.

Yeah he stuck out like a sore thumb in his designer sun glasses, lavish dark tailored suit, and luxurious cutting edge jaw.

I began running and pushing against people who were in my way trying to reach him before it was too late. My heart pounded fast against my chest and I started to sweating from the stress and adrenaline rushing through my body.

When I was finally close I honestly didn't know how to get his attention quicker because he was already on his way past the gate. And if he got in, I couldn't go in.

I looked around for a way to grab his attention but there was nothing. I even had previously tried to call him but knowing Amir, he probibly threw away his other phone.

A thought then occured to me. It was like a lightbulb lighting up above my head.

I quickly slipped off my sandal and chucked it at Amir. I was hoping to get his attention and not to necessarily hurt him although that would be a plus. My dark inner self hoped for that but it did not happen.

Instead, my sandal his hit shoulder and as soon as it did, Amir spun around ready to fight. When he saw me meters away Amir widened his eyes. He paused waiting fot me to say something so I jogged to him.

He seemed like he wanted to hear nothing from me so as soon as I began approaching him, he began to walk away from me fast.

"Amir don't make me throw my other sandal!" I called after him and luckily he did stop.

He turned around again. "Malak, just leave me alone okay?" His voice was weary and he looked like he hadn't slept in days. "You're the last person I want to see." He added. He turned again to keep moving away.

"Amir wait!" I blurted, seeing he was actually serious. "Please don't leave." I finally mumbled.

Amir turned abruptly, gritting his teeth. He looked menacing as he we'd me. "Malak what the hell do you want?"

I took a breath to clam my racing heart. "I want to talk."

Amir didn't look amused. He actually looked like he wanted to kill me. "I don't think so." He shook his head, tightened his grip on his bag and continued waking. This time faster.

"I'm not married!" I blurted out loud and causing a couple of people to turn around. Yes it was slightly embarrassing to yelp out loud. I felt the heat escalate on my body.

Amir looked at me, studying my face slowly, probably to make sure I wasn't lying. He swallowed. "And?" His eyes met mine. "Do you think I care about that?" He bit out but his eyes were calmer, more radiant than the blazing fire they were minutes ago.

I walked over to him. "Amir," I sighed. "I know you and obviously I was pretending not to know you. I'm sorry." He narrowed his eyes as if he was still unsure of what I'm spewing. "And," I continued while fidgeting with my fingers, "I'm also not married to anyone. I'm single as a Pringle." I held up my left hand to show him there was no ring.
