I finished getting dressed and hurried downstairs. I wanted to eat before getting to work.

I decided to eat something fast so I would just makes some microwaved pasta. I waited patiently for the food to heat. Suddenly the sound of a phone ringing sounded through the kitchen. It was coming from the kitchen cupboards by the table. I walked around the island and toward the noise. I checked the cupboards first but no luck. Then I checked underneath and there was a phone, it's screen beaming with an incoming call. I hesitated to answer it.

This was my mom's phone.

Before I could greet the caller, a voice boomed angrily from the other end. "Where the hell you been huh? I expected you to have my shît by last month and I'm still waiting!-" "I'm sorry, who is this. Are you looking for Brenda?" it was strange to say my mother's name. "Yeah...who the fück is this?" he interrupted. "She's not um...well she j-" the line went dead. I stood there a bit surprised. I took the phone away from my ear.
I went to look at the caller ID.

Christian?

Was this her dealer? So many questions came to mind. I searched into her contacts a bit more and then the messages to see if I could find anything. Soon the microwave went beeping. Did I really have the time to look through all of this? Gosh what the hell was it about?

Christian...

As I ate I continued snooping but didn't find much. Just code words so I was sure he was some kind of dealer. "I can't handle all of this now." I sighed as I placed my empty bowl in the sink to be washed later. I made sure to bring mom's phone along as I headed for the exit. I opened the door shocked to see Scorpio and he seemed just as surprised to see me too. "Why are you here?" I asked as he stood there. He seemed as if he changed his mind about showing up here. "I think we should talk. Just be one hundred percent with one another." He says. "What do you mean?" I replied. "There's some things you don't know." He said. I was afraid to hear what he was going to say next. He looked so handsome, but he also looked exhausted. His hair was messy and he was a bit sloppy looking. I could tell he was slightly buzzed. "I have to work." I said.

"It's about your mom."

This is a short but well deserved chapter. It's long over due. I'm so sorry for disappearing, but I'll be working to finish this book final. Thank you for your patience 💕
