Mine

Karissa's POV

"One more push, babe." August said, holding Miracle's hand.

"It's a girl." the doctor looked up and smiled.

"Aww." August smiled as he wiped her off.

"Here you are." the doctor handed Miracle the baby.

"She's beautiful." she stroked her cheek.

"Can I hold her?" August said.

"Yes." she smiled and handed her to August.

"Hey pretty girl." he kissed her nose.

"Hey Ms. Watts. We need to fill out the information on the baby." a nurse walked in with paperwork.

"I'm ready to goddamn go." Alexis rolled her eyes, making me laugh.

"What's her name?" the nurse started writing.

"Amiah." she smiled.

"Middle and last. We need the father's signature, also." the nurse looked up.

"Can we get a test?" August asked.

"Yes sir." the nurse walked away.

"August." I said.

"Yes, bae?" he gave the baby back to Miracle and turned around.

"What are we gonna do if it's yours?" I sighed.

"I don't even know." he sat next to me.

"Ok, Mr. Alsina, we need you for the test." she walked back in and got the baby.

"I'll be back." he got up and followed her.

"Miracle." I got up and stood next to her.

"Yes?" she opened her eyes.

"I wanna apologize about before. I was only thinking about myself and not you and your beautiful baby girl." I said quietly.

"It's ok. I also wanna apologize. I didn't want to break you and August up. I wanted revenge so badly I wasn't thinking straight. When I heard what happened I felt it was entirely my fault." she said.

"It wasn't. Because of my past, that was bound to happen. I just felt I needed to say that. Congratulations again." I smiled and sat back down.

"I'm back." August walked back in and sat next to me.

"After we get the results we can go." he grabbed my hand.

"Ok." I smiled.

"I love you Karissa. I don't want to let this break us up. If this baby ends up coming between us, you'll always know I love you and you changed me. You'll always have a special place in my heart." he smiled and squeezed my hand.

"Thanks baby." I kissed him.

Alexis had her head on Darian's shoulder. They were both knocked out. We waited about 20 minutes before the nurse came back.

"It will take about a day or two to have the results back. We're doing tests on the baby. We'll hold Ms. Watts and the baby over night." she smiled and walked out.

"Damn." August sighed and put his head in his hands.

"Come on baby. Let's go." I rubbed his back.

"Ok." he stood up and walked over to Miracle.

"I'm gonna leave. I'll see you tomorrow." he kissed her cheek and walked towards me.

"Get y'all ass up." I shook Alexis.

"We up, damn." Darian stood up and stretched.

"Let's go." August grabbed my hand and we left.....

"Bae, you ready?" Aug called from downstairs.

"Yes." I walked down. I wore a black dress.

"You look amazing." he smiled.

"Thanks. You look pretty damn fine yourself." I took his hand and we walked to the living room.

"Alexis, I'm leaving." I walked over and hugged her.

"Ok." she smiled.

"What you want?" August opened the menu.

"I want the crunchy taco salad." I closed mine.

"Ok." he smiled and stared at me.

"Every time you stare like that you make me think something's wrong." I opened my purse and got my mirror.

"Everything is perfect." he smiled over the candle light.

"What will you have?" the waiter came back.

"I'll have the crunchy taco salad and an iced tea." I smiled at him. No lie, he was fine as fuck.

"I'll have the baked chicken, mac and cheese and side salad with a strawberry lemonade." Aug looked up.

"Ok. 20 minutes." The waiter left.

"You enjoyed your food?" he grabbed my hands over the table.

"Yes. I love you." I rubbed his hand.

"I love you more." he stared.

"What, August?" I sighed.

"I just want you out of this depression. It's over and done. I'm here for you and I ain't going no where. I love you to death and you're special to me. I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. I hate the fact that you shut me out when I try to help you. It's almost like you don't understand." he said all in one breathe.

"Damn, really?" I felt guilty.

"Yes. I would never lie." he sighed.

"Let's go." I got up and started t walk.

"Wait. You know what's gone happen when we get home though, right?" he stopped me.

"Yeah. So let's go." I smiled and pulled him by the collar.
