I watch her slip her shirt back on, and I give her a slight smile.
"You should sleep, I'll wake you up and I'll take you home, okay?" I say, getting up. I quickly put everything back in the med kit and take it out of the room.
I make my way back to the bathroom, putting the kit back in the cabinet.
I head out to the living room, plopping down on the couch. I turn on the tv but keep it at a low volume.
I start to drift off, but perk up when I hear what sounds like soft crying. I get up, walking to my room quietly.
I push the door open slightly, and there she is, completely in tears.
I make my way to the bed, sitting beside her. She turns her head away, and I can't help but feel worried.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I softly ask her, putting my finger on her chin and gently guide her to look at me. I stare into her beautiful eyes for a moment before she looks away again.
"Daisy, talk to me," I say, trying again. I move so I'm sitting directly in front of her, and she sits up. She looks down at her lap, and there was nothing more I wanted in that moment than to help her.
I guide her so she's laying in my lap, and I rub her shoulder gently, hoping it helps. She clutches onto the bottom of my shirt, finally letting herself break as she sobs.
"Why- Why does he hurt me?" She asks, sounding so broken and hurt.
"I just... I just don't get it." She says, her voice getting quieter as she speaks.
"I know." I whisper, and a couple minutes later her crying slows. I assume she fell asleep, so I move so I'm laying next to her. I pull her close, my head resting on the top of her head. There was something special about her, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. I drift off to sleep, holding her tightly.
I wake up what feels like minutes later to my alarm going off. I take a moment to look at how gorgeous and peaceful she looked in my arms.
I gently remove my arms from around her after a moment, sitting up.
I yawn as I get up, stretching slightly.
I run my fingers through my hair, "Hey, Daisy. It's time to get up now. I needa take you home."
She groans, rolling over. I smile slightly as I pick her up, grabbing a pillow as well.
I carry her out to the car, putting her in the passenger seat just as I did earlier. I head around to the drivers side and get in, starting the car.
"Hey, I need your address."
"32 Oxford Way." she mumbles, her eyes closed.
The drive there is silent besides the radio playing lowly.
When we get there, she gets out before I can say anything, putting the pillow on the seat.
She grabs her stuff, "Hey... Thanks. For everything." She says, giving me a soft smile.
I nod, and she opens her mouth to say something but stops. I watch her turn around and head inside, and I sigh lightly.
She was just, something extraordinary, and for some reason I felt the need to watch over her & protect her. I don't know why though, just something about her I suppose.
I drive home, wondering how someone could be so cruel to such an innocent and sweet girl.
The rest of the night is pretty uneventful, I just watch movies until I fall asleep on the couch.
I wake up a bit earlier than usual the next morning, and get ready as usual. I take one last glance at myself in the mirror before heading out and driving to school. I try to get there a little early so I can keep my eye on Daisy.
I shut my eyes tightly for a second, dreading today. I suck it up and walk in after a few moments, mentally preparing myself for today.
I stand a good distance from Daisy's locker, but still where I can see her if anything happens.
I wait about 15 minutes before she eventually shows up, and I haven't seen Shane or his dumbass friends; which is probably a bad thing.
I keep my eyes on her and nothing else, but I'm caught off guard when I feel someone's hand tightly around my wrist.
I go to turn around, but I'm immediately greeted by a fist to my nose.
I hear Shane laughing, "what the actual fuck?" I yell, and he just laughs harder.
Before I realize what I'm doing, I shove his head into a locker and he crumbles to the ground.
He looks barely conscious, and I feel my nose start to bleed more heavily. I see his friends starting to approach us, so I quickly walk off, heading to the bathroom.
I stand in front of the sink, examining my nose. It wasn't bad but the area around my nose ring was definitely torn.
I sigh, shutting my eyes. I really fucked up, and all I could do now was hope that my bad decisions didn't come back on Daisy.
"Hey." I hear a soft voice say, and my eyes immediately shoot open.
"Oh, hey," I turn around to face her, "shouldn't you be in class?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I just.. I saw what happened with Shane and I wanted to make sure you were okay." She says, and I bite my lip.
"I'm fine, don't worry about me." I tell her, feeling the blood around my piercing start to dry.
She moves closer, grabbing the slightly wet paper towel out of my hand and dabbing around my piercing for me.
"Thanks." I mumble, and she just nods.
"You should head to class, I'm sure you've already missed enough classes because of me." I chuckle, and she just doesn't say anything.
I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket, "I'll see you around." I tell her, leaving the bathroom and heading down the hall.
I stop at the end, pulling out my phone.
Mum:
I'll be home tonight but only in town for two more days. Be home by 6. Love you hun xx.I sigh lightly, going to put my phone back in my pocket but being interrupted by my phone being smacked out of my hand.
I look up to see one of Shane's friends, Bryce.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" I practically yell, and he just glares.
"Do I look like I'm kidding, princess?" He asks, stepping closer to me and trying to intimidate me.
"I don't know, you look an awful lot like a fucking clown to me." I smirk, and in seconds his fist hits my lip.
I chuckle, "you're weaker than you look."
I punch him back, and just as he goes to hit me again, a teacher peeks out of a classroom.
"Ms. Morgan! Principles office now!" She says sternly, and he lowers his fist.
I pick my phone up off the floor, looking at the now cracked screen.
"Aw, what a shame." He teases, and I grab him by his collar.
"Watch your back, you pathetic, weak little man." I say, roughly shoving him as I let go.
I stomp off to the principles office, slamming the door shut after I make my way inside.
