I wake up the next morning, putting on a simple white dress with some white flats.

I hear a knock on my doorway and my mum walks in.

"Hey, sweetie. Do you want me to drop you off to school?"

I nod, grabbing my school bag. I hop in the car and Mum hops in the driver side.

"You know... you can always drive yourself... Like, you have your own car." Mum says, starting the car.

"I know but I don't like driving."

She just chuckles and shakes her head, "maybe you should get your new friend to drive you places."

"She's not... my friend." I mutter, cutting off the conversation.

I get to school, waving goodbye to my mum. I walk inside, going straight to my locker.

I grab my first session books out, preparing for Maths. I then hear skin hit skin and I turn around, watching as Blair grabs her nose in pain, "what the actual fuck?" She yells as Shane laughs loudly, his laugh echoing the halls.

Then Blair snaps, shoving Shane's head to the ground. The crowd of people gasps as he falls to the ground, clinging onto consciousness.

I see Shane's buddies start to walk up as Blair walks to the bathroom. The class bell rings and I watch as everyone scurries off, muttering to each other. Shane gets helped up by his friends and I walk to the same bathroom Blair went into.

There she is standing in front of the sink. She was grabbing onto the sink and her eyes were shut tightly.

She looked a bit shaky.

"Hey." I speak up, causing her eyes to shoot open.

"Oh, hey." She says, turning around and looking at me with those blue eyes. "Shouldn't you be in class?" She raises an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I just.. I saw what happened with Shane and I wanted to make sure you were okay." I say and she bites her lip, causing my stomach to do this weird flippy thing.

"I'm fine, don't worry about me." She says and I look at her nose, seeing how there was a lot of blood around her nose piercing.

I slowly inch closer, grabbing the damp wet paper towel out of her hand and dabbing around the wounded area.

I clean up the blood, seeing a slight tear.

Once I'm satisfied with how I cleaned her nose up, I move back.

"Thanks." She mumbles and I nod in a reply.

"You should head to class, I'm sure you've already missed enough classes because of me." She chuckles and I stay quiet, wishing I could stay in the bathroom with her.

"I'll see you around." She says, walking straight out of the bathroom. I frown, standing there for a few seconds before I leave, heading straight to maths.

I sigh, opening the classroom door and trying to sneak in, praying I don't get called out.

"Daisy Blithe, why are you late?" Ms. Porter's voice calls out and I freeze, feeling everyone's eyes on me.

"I... I was in the bathroom." I squeak out, hearing giggles across the classroom.

"Alright... Just... take a seat." She says, sighing and I just nod, rushing to the seat in the back of the classroom.

"That's bullshit. Of course she gets out of a detention." I hear one of Shane's friends, Jake, from the front of the classroom.

"Yeah, well, you won't be able to if you keep going." Ms. Porter says, causing some of the class to go "oooh."

The rest of my classes drag on until it's finally lunch. I usually don't sit in the cafeteria, it's basically a death trap for me but today I decide to get some food.

I sit at a table, alone of course, and look around. I look around, trying to get my eyes on a familiar black haired girl but I don't see her.

She must've ditched.

Suddenly, the doors burst open, causing me to jump a little. I look towards them to see Blair walking at full speed towards Shane's group's table. She looks terrifying, her eyes were wide with rage and her fists were clenched tight. My eyes dart around the cafeteria, hoping someone was gonna do something before she does something seriously stupid but I determine that no one cares.

She grabs Bryan by the collar, "you weak ass fucking bitch. I got a week of detention because of you. I could fucking kill you with my bare hands."

I shoot up and run up to her just as she's about to hit him. I get right in front of him, taking the blow.

Gasps go throughout the cafeteria and everything stops as I grab the side of my face.

"Shit, Daisy. Fuck, I'm so sorry." Blair says, her blue eyes wide open in shock.

"Come on, let's get out of here." I mutter, walking out of the eerily quiet room.

"Daisy..." She trails behind me as I walk into the bathroom we were in earlier.

I look in the mirror to see a red mark forming.

"You throw a strong punch." I say, turning around to see her right in my face. Her hands were against the wall, trapping me.

"Why'd you do that?" She says, her voice soft.

"You were gonna hit him, I didn't want you to get into trouble." I mutter, looking away. She moves in closer to where she's right against my body.

She leans in close to my ear and says, "why do you care?"

My body flushes with heat and my face goes bright red so I use my hair to hide it.

"Because... because I just do."

She chuckles, "you shouldn't, I'm bad news."

I look at her dead in the eye, "I don't care. You helped me."

Her strong attitude weakens for a second.

I hug her, causing her hands to drop from the wall and instead wraps around me.

"You helped me. Thank you." I mutter in her chest, my grip tightening on her.

"Thank you for trying to avoid me getting in more trouble. But what you did was stupid." She says, pulling away and holding onto my shoulders.

"Yeah, I know." I say, smiling softly.

"Your cheek is dark purple." She says, causing me to immediately face the mirror.

"Oh, crap. What's my mum gonna say?" I mutter, staring at the intense bruise.

"Here, let me cover it up." She says, pulling something out of her bag. Foundation.

"I don't know if you're my colour because... you're pale as fuck but I'll try my best." She states while dabbing something on my cheek.

"There, done." She says and I look at the mirror. My face is slightly more tan than usual but she blended it in so it looks okay.

"Thank you." I whisper and she nods.
