I wake up the next morning to my alarm going off loudly. I mentally groan as I force myself out of bed, rubbing my eyes slightly.
I do my usual morning routine and drive to school. I had an off feeling about today but I pushed it aside, figuring it was just me not wanting to go to school.
I spend the day avoiding Daisy to the best of my ability, hoping this would all blow over and she'd forget about me in a couple days.
Detention comes and goes, and by the time 5 rolls around, I can't wait to get the fuck home.
I start to drive home, zoning out until I notice a familiar figure with strawberry blonde hair limping along the sidewalk. I decide to stop when I notice she has blood matted into her hair.
I quickly pull up next to her, rolling the window down.
"Daisy? What the fuck happened?" I ask her as she turns around to face me. I knew Shane did this and I'd be lying if I said I didn't wanna murder him with my bare hands.
"N-nothing... I'm fine." She stutters out, but we both know she isnt.
"Daisy, you're bleeding from your head and you're limping. Get in, I'm driving you to my place."
It takes her a moment but she gets in the car, "just drive me home. My mum isn't home until tomorrow night."
I nod, driving to her place. I park right next to the small pink car that I didn't notice until now. It was so typical of her to have a pink car.
"Why don't you drive?"
"It's all an elaborate trick to force you to be friends with me." She sarcastically says, and I'd laugh if she wasn't seriously hurt.
"You got jokes, I like that. No, but for real, why don't you drive?" I ask, looking at her.
She shrugs, "I don't know. I'm not a fan of driving. I get really anxious and I just can't do it."
I simply nod, helping her out of the car and walking her inside. I place her on the couch, "Where's your med box?"
"Bathroom cabinet." She mumbles, and I head to her bathroom without another word. I dig through the cabinet until I find a dusty, old med box.
I brush it off and walk back out, placing it next to her on the couch and opening it. I patch her up to the best of my ability. As I'm wiping off her foundation, I notice where I hit her looks worse than it did a couple days ago.
"I feel horrible that I hit you." I say, biting my lip slightly.
"Don't. I made a dumb move. I'm glad I did, if you hit him then you'd just have Shane's friends after you even more." She says, and my heart melts at how sweet she is. I'd rather them hurt me than her though, she didn't deserve this.
I start to lift up her shirt but she stops me once again, resting her hand on mine.
"I have to make sure you're okay." I say softly, hoping she'd understand. She slowly moves her hand away, pushing mine away too.
She slowly takes her shirt off, looking away as she does.
My eyes move to her stomach, noticing there's no bruising to indicate internal bleeding. Before I realize what I'm doing, I'm practically staring at her chest. I quickly snap myself out of it, mentally scolding myself.
"Uh... for the head injury..." I trail off, still a bit zoned out.
"Yeah?"
"I'm gonna need to put you in the shower to clean all the blood away so I can look at it better, it's hard to see with all the blood and hair." I say, making eye contact.
