The next morning, I wake up to Daisy sleeping next to me peacefully. I go to get up but I'm immediately greeted by extreme pain shooting up my side. I bite my lip slightly, my hand moving to my side.
I apply slight pressure to the bandage as I stand up, heading off to the bathroom. I open her cabinet, grabbing some more bandages out and sitting them on the counter. I pull off my shirt, slowly removing the bandage.
I use a washcloth with some water on it to clean it, putting the fresh bandage over top of it when I'm done.
I walk back into her room shirtless, making my way to the dresser. I dig around in it for a moment before pulling out a semi-loose black top and some blue jeans.
I pull off my jeans, replacing them with the blue ones and pulling on my shirt afterwards. I walk over to the edge of the bed, leaning down to kiss Daisy on the cheek.
Her eyes open, meeting mine, "oh, good morning to you too." she mutters, leaning up to kiss me.
I pull away after a moment, giving her a soft smile.
"I think you should stay home today baby, that cut on your side needs to heal." she tells me, and I hold back a sigh. I didn't wanna stay home in case something happened, I knew how Addi and Shane were.
"And I'm assuming you're going to school?" I ask, and her neutral expression changes into a smirk.
"Bingo, you know I can't miss school." She says quietly, her thumb running across my cheek slowly.
"But what will I do all day without my beautiful girlfriend entertaining me?" I tease, and she blushes slightly.
"There's lots of things you can do babe... You could drive me to school if you want though."
"You thought I wouldn't? But if you wanna make it on time, you've got 10 minutes to get ready." I say, moving over so she can finally get up. I watch as she disappears into her closet for a moment, coming out a few moments later with full length overalls on and a pink shirt underneath.
I stand up, grabbing my keys off her dresser. I watch as she puts on her splint, seemingly in a rush.
"Do you have to?"
"Yes but don't worry, you know I'll be home tonight." She says, and I can't wait for tonight. I hated being away from her. I feel her hand grab mine, and we walk out to the car together. She helps me in once we're to my car, quickly making her way around to the passenger side after.
I pull out of her driveway, driving a bit slower than usual as I didn't want to get into an accident with her. As for me, I could care less, but I never wanted her to be hurt.
"Babe, drive faster, I'm gonna be late..." She mumbles, looking down at her phone.
"Baby, I'm going the speed limit. We wouldn't want me to get a ticket would we?" I smirk, not even bothering to look at her.
We get there after what feels like forever, and I shut off the car completely. I turn to look at her just as she looks up from her phone, checking the time.
"I'll pick you up after school, okay?" I whisper, and she nods slightly. I really didn't want her to go, but I knew how important school was to her.
She pecks me on the lips, "You're the best girlfriend, you know that right?"
"I don't think I heard you correctly, what was that?"
"Yeah, yeah, don't get ahead of yourself. You know you're the best." She says, opening the door, "see you this afternoon, babe." I watch as she steps out, shutting the door behind her. She gives me a slight wave and I start my car.
