I am so mad! I have to sit by the worst human being on the planet: Derek. Mr. Sellin knows that I can't be around him. My bubble will burst, and I will go on a rampage if he even thinks about talking to me.

"You're ugly, and you know it." Derek whispered to me. Did he just say what I thought he said?! Oh hell no!

"Excuse me?" I said through my gritting teeth.

"You're excused." he replied with the slightest of a smirk on his face.

"You don't know what you're talking about! If you want to see ugly, go look in the mirror." I was furious.

"Yes, I do! You're ugly and no one can deny it." he said a little bit too loud.

I popped up, out of my seat, grabbed my agenda: stupid rules the school has. Walked over to Mr. Sellin's desk, and asked if I could use to restrooms as politely as I could while being furious.

"Yes, but hurry up." he said while signing my pass to leave the room.

I dashed out of the room, and let the door slam behind me. I had bottled up my feelings for so long. I always wait until I'm alone before I burst out into tears, or even punch a wall.

I solemnly walked to the bathroom, crying my eyes out.

I was in there for... I don't know, maybe ten minutes at the least. Until I heard foot steps quietly tapping on the crappy tile of the bathroom floor. I didn't recognize her shoes. I quickly rushed out to the sinks and washed my hands.

A familiar girl came out of the first stall of the bathroom, It was Courtney. She's also my long distance cousin. But we were friends before we found that out.

"Hey Paise! Why are you crying?" she asked seeming concerned.

"You know asshole, I mean Derek?" I chuckled while still seeming to cry.

"Yeah, what did he do?" she questioned. I explained the whole thing to her.

"Just ignore him. If I have to... I'll beat his ass." It was so strange hearing those words come out of Courtney's mouth.

"Thanks, cuz." I told her.

"Well, I should get back to class. Don't want to miss anything." I gave her a hug and walked with her to the end of the hall. She went to her class as I made my way back to mine.

The hallway was empty. More quiet than I last remember. Then... I heard foot steps, tip toeing behind me. Who was that, and what were they doing?

I made the slightest of a turn, a blurry figure struck me vigorously with an aluminum bat. I remember the pain. Then... I remember nothing.
