(Paisley's POV)
Bonnie, Mom and I all went to the mall after we left the hospital. We went into some of my favorite stores first, Hot Topic and Claire's.
"Do you want to go into Deb now, or should we go get something to eat?" mom asked as I was looking at the flower crowns. I may not be the type of girl that would wear a flower crown, but a girl's gotta know what it looks like.
"Ummm... I think it would be best if we go get the dresses before we eat. You know, so we don't feel so full that we buy the wrong size," I replied.
"Nah. I am starving! Where do you want to go to for lunch then?" Momma asked.
"Auntie Ann's?" I suggested.
"'Tis Pretzels we shall eat!" Bonnie shouted in her famous old English accent.
We marched forward, out of Claire's, and into the crowded place we call a mall. There was a long line in front of Auntie Ann's, so we had to wait a while before we were able to order.
"What will it be for you ladies?"
"Uhhh... a regular Pretzel with cream cheese," I said.
"I'll have a thing of cinnamon sticks," said Bonnie.
"And I'll have just a pretzel-dog,please," Mom spoke in a polite tone.
"Your total will be $10.63," mom gave her the money, and we were on our way.
~Thirty minutes later~
Bonnie and I went to Deb while mom went into Barns and Nobel. She needed to sit down and relax I guess.
"Paisley?! What about this one?" Bonnie shouted from across the store.
I waltzed over to her to check out the dress. It was black, sort of short in the front, but long in the back. It had a strapless top. Which I'm not too comfortable with because of my shoulder.
"What do you think?" Bonnie asked with a hopeful look on her face.
"I'll try it on if it makes you happy," I told her, and snatched it out of her hands.
I went into to the dressing room. While removing my clothes, I looked at the dress. I'm not sure this is the right size. I don't want it to cling to to the places where I'm not comfortable with yet.
"Bonnie, are you sure you got the right size?" I tried not to shout.
"Yes!" she called back.
I took the dress off its hanger. It was beautiful, but I don't think it will look good on me. I slip it on from my feet, and slid the fabric upward. It fit like a glove, surprisingly.
The fabric was so soft. I looked in the mirror, and saw myself. But it didn't look like me. It looked like someone totally different.
"Paisley? Do you need help?" Bonnie asked from outside the door.
"No," I chimed back.
"Then get your butt out here!" she was so persistent.
I unlocked the door and walked slowly out of the dressing room. I looked around for Bonnie, until I noticed she was to the left of me. Her mouth was wide open.
"What? Does it look that bad?" I was quick to ask.
"Oh. My. God. You look AMAZING!!" Bonnie screamed. "Bitch, JJ is gonna love it!"
"I think he will too." I respond back, looking at the mirror outside of the dressing room. I turned my body, but I continued to stare.
This dress was making my body look fabulous, giving me all the curves I wanted. It didn't show much clevage, and I was perfectly fine with that.
"I think I'm going to cry." Bonnie said as she whipping away imaginary tears.
"Oh, hush" I replied.
"You ruined a perfectly good moment. You could have just let me embrace the fact you have found the perfect dress." She pouts.
"I'm not gonna let you. Now go find a dress for yourself. " I told her, walking to the dressing room so I could get changed.
I removed the dress, and slipped back into my everyday clothes. Grabbing the dress off the hanger, I looked at myself one more time in the mirror. I realised that my clothes were so baggy it looked like I had no shape to my body.
I wondered what JJ saw in me. I'm surley not the prettiest girl out there. He could have his choice of the lot, and yet he choose me.
~One hour later~
Bonnie has yet to find a dress. She is really picky when it comes to her dresses.
She can't stand strapless dresses because they bugged her. The dress couldn't be to long or she would be trippin on it the entire night. It had to look good with her bleached hair.
With all these combined, it proved to be quite a task. We looked all over for a dress that fit the criteria.
"I'm about to say, 'Fuck it' and let Dani make one for me." Bonnie mumbled, a look of distress crossing her face.
"Come on Bonn. Just a few more dresses left." Momma said to the hunched girl.
"I don't wanna." She complained.
While a very pregnant Momma attempted to cheer up the blonde, my eyes wandered to a dress on the top rack.
I walked over to the store lady who had a poll with a hook.
"Can I please have that dress right there?" I asked her, pointing to the black and purple dress.
"Of course." She replied. I walk with her to the wall. "What size do you need?"
"I need a small." I respond. She nods her head. She grabs the first one on the rack and checks the size before handing to me. "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
I looked the dress over again. The colors would look good on her, complimenting her Ivory skin and blonde hair.
"Bonnie, try this dress on." I shouted to her.
"I don't wanna!" I heard her exclaim.
"I'll give you Mac'n'Cheese!"
I heard her little feet patter over to me. Her long hair was flying behind her.
"Mac'n'Cheese?" She says skeptically, standing in front of me. She eyed the dress in my hands.
I nod my head.
She grabbed the purple silk skirt. "I guess it's pretty enough." She says, trying to hide the liking for the dress.
She snatches the dress from my hands and takes off towards the dressing room.
I smile at the younger girl. I know that this was the dress for her.
About five minutes later, Momma and I are sitting outside of the door, trying to get Bonnir to come out.
"I really like the dress, I do, but I don't think it looks good on me." She says though the door. I can see that she actually has the dress on.
"Bonnie Ranae Rayes, get your ass out here!" I shouted at the dressing room door.
"Fine!" she sighed, and opened the door.
She walked out and looked down at the ground. Her arms were covered in black lace. The top of the dress was black. The bottom was dark purple. And flowy.
"Bonnie, you are getting that dress," I pointed my index finger at her.
"Even if I have to pay for it." momma added.
After about ten minutes of arguing, Bonnie finally agreed to let momma buy her the dress. I hope her boyfriend Oliver likes it.
