Chapter 21

(JJ's Pov)

I woke up in Paisley's bed to see her sleeping. Her arm was snaked around my waist. Her breathing was heavy, indicating that she was still sleeping.

I slid out of the bed, being careful not to wake her. She stired a bit, but didn't wake.

  Paisley had left out some clothes for me last night. I guess they were her brother's and they were the closest to my size.

I went into her bathroom and changed into the clothes. The shirt was a bit long, but that's because Joey is taller than me. The jeans fit perfectly. I left the bathroom to find Paisley sitting up in her bed.

"What time is it?" she asked, rubbing her eyes. Her voice was small.

"It is almost eight," I spoke, sitting next to her.

"You have to leave, don't you?" her frown was prominent.

"I have to get home before my dad leaves for work. It take a while to get to my house from yours," I respond.

"Will you at least stay with me for a little while longer?" she gave me puppy dog eyes.

"Okay... Only for a little while. Then I have to leave," I replied.

She lay back down in the bed. I lay with her. I snaked my arms around her waist as I cuddled next to her. Her body radiated heat. She was so warm. It made me not want to leave her side but I had to. I didn't want my parents to find out that I spent the night in her room.

She fell back to sleep loosely wrapped around my arm. I slipped out of her grasp and sneaked out of the house. I started my jeep, and was on my way home. It took less time than I expected. It normally take twenty to thirty minutes to reach the other side of town.

I got home quarter to nine. I jumped out of my car, and closed the door quietly. I opened the back door, and tiptoed to my room, only to find my mom and dad sitting on my bed. Waiting for me.

"Where have you been?" my father's voice was loud.

"I was at a friends house," I told.

"What friend?" my mother intervened.

"I was with Joey. You don't know him," I protested.

"Joey is Paisley's younger brother. Don't act like we are stupid!" my father nearly shouted.

"Yes he is. I was at her house while Paisley, Bonnie, her mother and step father were at the hospital. Her mother had twins," I replied.

"So you were with her at the hospital?" mom asked.

"Yes I was. I took her and Bonnie to the hospital from the prom." Damn it! Why did I just say that?!

"You were with her at the prom?" My father rose his eyebrow.

"Yes... I was." Damn it!

"Why did you lie to us?" mom asked, again.

"Because.... because I knew if I told you I was going to the prom with Paisley you would make me call it off," I babbled.

"Why would we do that?! We know you love her, sweetheart," Mom proceeded.

"H-how did you know that?" I responded.

"You talk about her all the time. We know you sneak out to see her. Even when you are grounded. We can see how much she means to you. We just didn't realized how strong the feeling was until now," mom said. Dad just sat there with his eyes on my reaction.

"So... I am not grounded from seeing her anymore...?" I was pushing it a little.

They both looked at each other.

"...Yes. You are feel to see her whenever you like. But if your grades drop," they pointed at me, "You will be grounded again."

YES!

(Paisley's Pov)

I may or may not be upset that JJ left when I was sleeping, but he had to leave sometime. I should get over it. After I figured out he had left, I got out of bed, and went down stairs. I didn't want to be in my room alone.

"Good morning!" Bonnie yawned.

"Mornin'. Sleep well?" I am so lame. Even when I'm not depressed.

"Yeah. You?" she replied.

"I slept great, for once,"I mumbled the last part.

"Did you have a snuggle buddy...?" Bonnie's smile was so creepy.

She plopped down on the couch next to me.

I could feel heat rushing to my cheeks. I better not be blushing.

"How did you know?" I stared her down.

She had a look of evil in here eye.

"I may or may not have checked up on you a few times during the night..." she said.

"Bonnie!" I squealed. Why does she have to spy on my sleeping.

"What!? You two looked adorable. All snuggled up to each other!" she is such a drama queen. "It's just nice to see you happy," she said.

I wouldn't say I am happy.
