Since Brad has been away touring England for the past 3 weeks we have been calling each other nonstop. It's like I'm addicted to hearing his voice, for when he's not here, it's comforting. After a long week and a half, I finally got in touch with my parents. They took Lena in without even asking me why I had her in the first place, which makes me curious as to what they've been doing. Maybe they have something to do with Emilia? No, they'd tell me if they did.

Brad will be coming home next week which means he will be home for my birthday - I was worried in case he wouldn't make it back, but he told me that he wouldn't miss it for the world.

I am currently driving to my parents' house to drop off a few things that Emilia brought for Lena, like the toys, play mat and things like that. I pull up outside of their house and grab the bag from the passenger seat before walking up to the door. I softly knock before walking in. I could hear soft chatter from the living room as I walk further into the house. I stopped suddenly when I saw the person sitting in the living room with my parents.

It was Emilia.

I gaped at her in shock, where the hell has she been?! Probably fucked off with her new 'boyfriend' and leaving her poor daughter behind in case she gets in the way. I feel sorry for Lena, I hope Emilia soon realises what she's doing.

"Maddie, we can explain." My mum plead as I dropped the bag next to me, still processing everything that is happening.

"Why-why is she here?" I ask as I tear up a little bit, I feel like I've been betrayed - by my own family. Like they stuck a knife in my back and laughed as I suffered. I blink back the tears before hearing pathetic excuses from my so called 'family'.

"Emilia has been going through a rough patch recently.." My dad started, I scoff at him and fold my arms over my chest causing the three of them to look at me. I shook my head and replied.

"She has been going through a 'rough patch'? She was the one who dumped Lena at my place expecting me to know what I'm doing and left for nearly 2 weeks! My boyfriend had just left for tour and you didn't answer any of your phones, where the hell were you?!" I raised my voice as the anger inside me built up, I felt as if I was going to pass out if I shout too loud.

"We had some business to take care of." My mum replied bluntly. I shook my head again.

"Well why didn't Emilia tell me that she needed some time to herself instead of making me worry if something was to happen to her! This is your daughter Emilia, don't you realise what you have done? To me? To your little girl?!" I shout. Emilia has a few tears crawling down her cheeks, her eyes were red and puffy from the tears. My mum and dad just sat there, my mum rubbing Emilia's shoulder to comfort her, not that there's anything to comfort her for.

"Maddie! Calm down..there is no need to be like this." My dad said as he stood up.

"Me..'calm down'! How can I stay calm when you're siding with my cousin who left her daughter with me for 2 weeks?! I was out under a lot of pressure with Lena, and with you all not answering your phones I think you all didn't care. You wanted me to feel left out, lonely, pressurised and betrayed. Well congratulations, you got what you wanted." I argue back before turning my back to them.

"And Emilia? I think Lena deserves a better life, she doesn't deserve to be passed around because she's not wanted, just think about that." I snarl before speed walking to the front door, slamming it behind me.

I stormed to my car, quickly unlocking it with the keys that I held in my hand, squeezing my fingers together to let all of the anger out. I can't believe them. My own parents treat their niece like their own daughter, as if I'm a stranger to them. I huff and sit down in the car with my head on the steering wheel as I sit in silence. I slowly lift up my head and put the key in the ignition and placing my hands on the steering wheel before driving away from my 'family' home.
