chapter twenty

Madison

I finally arrive at the train station that Ana had directed me to. I am physically shaking. I am so happy that Emilia and Lena are alright. Although it doesn't look like it, I have been worried sick about them - I have tried to keep my mind off it but it was almost impossible after the worry I have felt.

Rushing out of the car, I start walking towards the entrance of the station, my legs feeling like jelly from the excitement and relief. I look up, looking through the crowds of people that were rushing in and out of the huge building, trying to spot a glimpse of the two.

I lean against the pole that stood firmly next to me, my hair blowing in the wind as a slightly sickly feeling came over me. I feel nervous, why am I nervous? Stupid hormones. My heart is racing, from all of the emotions rushing around my body. I guess it's only just got to me, everything has just hit me right in the face.

"Maddie." I hear someone, a girl, her voice is shaky and it almost sounded like a whisper but it was loud and clear to me. I turned around and saw Emilia holding onto Lena as if her life depended on it, her bag dropped and her eyes filled up with tears as did mine. I gasped and with no hesitation, I ran towards her, engulfing her and Lena in a tight, well-needed hug.

Only one of her arms actually embraced me, as she was holding Lena, but both of my arms were never wanting to let go of her. I have missed her so much and I haven't realised until now, which is a new thing for me.

I look up to see Ana looking at us with a huge smile on her face, she was tearing up too. Her glossy eyes let out a couple of tears as I held Emilia and Lena close to me. I heard sniffling coming from Emilia as she clutched me, and Lena. Ana came forward and took Lena from Emilia, which I thanked her for. Emilia let out tears that she must have been holding in for a while. But the thing that makes me happy is that she still has a smile on her face. She is so strong, independent and just so amazing. For the things she has been through, it is so nice to see her smiling.

"Oh Emilia, I'm so happy you're alright!" I said after she had calmed down.

"I-I'm so happy to s-see you." She said before letting go. I smiled at her, wiping the stray tears away from my cheeks before turning to face Ana.

"Thank you Ana, if it wasn't for you, goodness knows where she would be." She smiled widely at me and pulled me in for a hug before handing Lena back to Emilia.

"It's no problem at all, I'm so happy you are back Emilia, I hope for the best." Ana said to Emilia and Emilia hugged her, also thanking her. (so much hugging lmao)

"You better get her home, she'll need a nice warm bed and a good nights sleep." Ana said to me, I nodded and turned to see Emilia cradling Lena in her arms.

"I'll see you at work tomorrow." She whispered before waving us goodbye. I guide Emilia to the car and put her bag in the back of the car, I then made sure Lena was secure on Emilia's lap before we drove home.

"He didn't do anything..awful, did he?" Once Emilia and I got home, Brad greeted her with a welcoming hug as I put Lena upstairs to sleep. The three of us sat down in the living room as Emilia told us what happened and how she 'escaped'.

"Not like before, but he did tie my wrist to the wall with wire and put Lena in a cot at the opposite side of the room. Whenever he got angry he would threaten to hurt Lena, so I took the blame for everything she did, even when she cried he got mad." Emilia explained.

"So he has been arrested?" Brad asked.

"Hopefully, I never want to see his face again." She sighed. I pulled her in for a hug and told her it is going to be okay.

"I'm going to call my parents, I won't be long."

"I'm going to call my parents, I won't be long." Maddie said before walking out of the living room, leaving Emilia and I in a silence.

"So, how have you been? Done anything interesting?" Emilia asked as she turned to face me.

"Nothing really, I've wrote a few songs for the next album but that's just out of boredom." Emilia nods her head and smiles.

"You got anything planned for Maddie's birthday?" Maddie turns 21 in just two days, I have planned a party but I just need to get her out for the day, just so everyone can get here so when we get home she gets a surprise.

"I've planned a party - a surprise party. I'm thinking if I take her out for the day, everyone else could come here and hide so when we come back we can surprise her." Emilia's face lights up at my idea.

"That's brilliant! She's going to love it." She sighed as she slouched down on the couch, looking up at the ceiling.

"Mum will be round tomorrow Em!" Maddie happily strolled back into the living room and sat beside me.

"Is it alright if I go to bed? I'm really tired and I haven't slept well because of..you know." Emilia said.

"That's no problem, make yourself at home." I smiled towards Emilia which made her smile, Maddie smiled widely and took Emilia upstairs to the spare bedroom.

Once Maddie retuned she sat down next to me and put her head on my chest, her arms around me embracing me in a hug. I wrap my arms around her and pull her closer to me not wanting to let go.
