I furrow my brows in confusion. Who would be at the door at nine in the morning? I looked back to make sure Pip is alright then head for the door. Another knock came from the other side of it, the knock echoing through the hallway.

I hesitantly reached for my keys and unlocked the door, but got the shock of my life when I opened it.

I saw Emilia standing there with Lena in her arms. Jesus, she's grown. I thought to myself, Lena must be about one and a half now, but she looks so adorable in the little peach dress she's wearing. Standing next to Emilia is a rather tall, dark haired boy who looked quite young. He wore a cute smile on his face and looked very innocent - he gave off a shy reputation.

"Hello stranger," Emilia giggled as she sent me a warm smile. I giggle at her and stand to the side, letting them in.

"Hi, I'm Shawn," The tall boy greeted me.

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Maddie," I smiled at him. He seems nice, I'm happy Em found someone like him, he's a keeper.

"I'm sorry, I'm still in my pyjamas. I'm going to get ready, I'll be down in a few minutes!" Em shouted an 'okay' as I rushed upstairs to find a decent outfit. I'm not going to make an effort, but I need to look presentable. I don't want Shawn to think that his girlfriend's cousin is a tramp! I quickly find a pair of leggings and shove them on, along with an Ivy Park sweater and some socks. Once I'm done, I walk back downstairs to see Em and Shawn in the garden, Lena sat on the grass playing with Pip.

My heart is squealing.

I head towards them with a smile on my face, Lena giggled every time Pip ran around her, which made the three of us laugh.

I stood and watched the little infant play with Pip until I realised something - I haven't told Em the news!

I shouldn't rush it though, they obviously came by for some reason, right? Especially this early.

"Would you like anything?" I ask Em and Shawn.

"Tea, please," Em smiled then looked back at Lena.

"I'll just have water, I'll come and help you," He offered. I nodded my head and lead Shawn into the kitchen. I grabbed a glass and filled it up with water while he switched the kettle on for Em. I handed him the glass then grabbed a mug from the cupboard.

"Thanks," Shawn said quietly. I smile softly at him.

I decide to make a conversation so it's not awkward.

"I've heard good things about you," I grinned at Shawn, a light blush sprinkled across his cheeks.

"That's good to know," He laughed lightly.

"I saw Em a few weeks back, she told me she's very happy with you," I'm happy that Em is happy, I hated her with Daniel, what an awful piece of work he was.

"It's nice to hear that, she needed someone after what had happened before. I'm assuming you know what I'm on about, right?" His voice is so clear and crisp, it's quite pleasing to listen to.

"Yeah, that wasn't a nice time. Does she make you happy?" The kettle behind me had finished boiling, but Shawn and I continued talking.

"Definitely. She's so happy and bubbly all of the time, it amazes me how she brought up a baby the way she has considering before," Shawn looked out of the window at the two girls in the garden.
