Errol can't sleep, so he gets up early and packs. Walking quietly the long way, Errol avoids waking up his wardmates. It's only one in the morning, but Errol doesn't sleep anymore. If he sleeps, he would have a nightmare and Timothy would find that something to tease him about. Regardless of what he's been taught, Errol has never gotten the symptoms for not getting enough sleep. He's perfectly fine.
So he doesn't disturb Ranger Will, he goes into the woods to visit Sectar. Sectar is happy to see him, not caring about what time he came. "Hey, boy. How was your night?" Asks Errol. "Guess what I got? I managed to get my hands on this half of a leg ham. Compliments of Master Chubb." Sectar wolfs down the ham and looks at Errol with gratitude. Errol looks back with fondness. He likes this animal. "I wonder what it would be like, to be a ranger?" Errol directs that question at no one. The wolf continues to sniff about for more food. "Fine! Ignore me. I'll find out myself."
Errol thinks about him all his life, he wanted to be a ranger. Why did he? Wrong move. Errol winces as memories pop up, overwhelming him. Groaning from something not physical, Errol collapses on the ground. He loses consciousness, but the memories don't prevail.
Errol is a young kid once again. He reads with interest as he opens the scrolls of Tales in Araluen. His eyes widen as the courageous acts of Will Treaty and Ranger Halt are revealed. Each night, he would imagine himself as a ranger every night. Fearless, wearing a mottled cloak, arrows slung on his back, bow over his shoulder, and swords and two knives hanging at his side. He could imagine him fighting by the side of his heroes. Next day, he and his friend, Nicholas, are hanging out in a room alone. They talk about what they want to be when they grow up. "You know what I want to be?" Asked Errol. "No. What?" "I really want to be a knight, or a ranger with a sword." Nicholas laughed. Yes. He laughed at him. "Sorry, but that's a silly dream." Hurt, Errol laughs with him, but quickly walks out so he could burst into tears.
Later, his fourth brother, Jemima, hears what his dream is. "What? I cannot imagine you as a ranger or knight. In this world, it's not going to happen. So forget it." Five years later, Errol did everything but forget it. His best friend now has found a new best friend. They still hung out, but three is a crowd. Still, Errol is hanging out with his friends. "Stop it! I don't want you doing that to me!" His friends are poking him. They don't listen and continue to poke him. Errol grabs at one of their hands. "You're being rude." Says Nicholas as Errol tries to get the other person's hand. "Well, you should stop poking me. That's ruder." Nicholas shrugs. "We're allowed to do it, because we're better." Errol's face reddens in anger. "Don't make me fight you. You've never seen me angry before." Nicholas laughs. "Really? We're stronger than you. There's no way, you can beat us." Errol stands up. "Then I'm leaving." Errol leaves without looking back. He hears laughter rumble behind him like thunder. They're laughing at him! There were ten other people in that small room. They talk about being friendly and standing up for people. They done nothing.

Errol wakes up to Sectar licking her face. "Easy, boy, easy. Stop licking me. Your breath smells terrible." The wolf stops but watches Errol with concern in his eyes. Errol puts a hand on his aching head. "I'm alright, boy. Don't worry about me." Standing up on wobbling legs, he looks at the sun. Darn it. Ten minutes till five. Errol says bye to the wolf and bolts for Will's cabin with the laughter still rolling around in his mind. He makes it in five minutes. Pushing the memories and laughter away, Errol checks himself over to make sure he's presentable. Once he's finished doing away with memories, he becomes serious again. Hopping onto the porch he waits for Will to open the door. Yes, he's heard about rangers opening the door before you knock. As expected, Will opens the door and looks in surprise at the grim person waiting for him to open the door. He motions for Errol to come inside. As Errol comes inside his eyebrow rises. "Halt? What are you doing here?"

Was that good? Hope I didn't overdo it on the memories. Please let me know how you like it. If you like it, please vote. Bye.
