Emma's P.O.V

"Will she be alright Doctor?", I heard a familiar voice ask.

"Yeah she's perfectly alright. Her bones aren't broken. But she has a pretty deep gash on her stomach, because the glass that pricked her was very sharp and big. We have treated the wound, so no worries. She might have some concussions which we will have to check on later. The blow on her head was indeed, pretty hard. Otherwise, I don't think you have anything to worry about Skylar", the voice that was supposed to belong to the doctor commented.

Wait, is that Sky? And who are they talking about?

Dread overtook me as the previous events came rushing into my mind. HOLY CRAP! I'M IN A GODDAMN HOSPITAL!!

I know that I might sound crazy, but trust me I'm just allergic to them. Hospitals bring a whole lot of memories that I have been trying to forget all these past years.

"How long will she have to be here, Doctor?", I heard Sky ask.

"That depends on her. We'll have to determine it once she wakes up. But maybe a minimum of two days would do", the Doc stated in a matter-of-fact tone.

I mentally groaned.

GREAT! I'm stuck here for two more days.

I sighed in frustration. I realized that the sigh didn't go unnoticed by the two present inside the room as it suddenly became silent. I could imagine them peering down at me, waiting for me to pry my eyes open.

"Congratulations on planning an escape route, Emma", my inner voice echoed at the back of my head with a tinge of sarcasm.

I mentally slapped myself and stuck my tongue at her. Great, now is the time to show myself up.

I tried opening my eyes. It was hard at first as my lids were stuck together as if someone had glued them. And then when I was finally able to open them, I had to immediately shut them back as the room lights blinded me. I slowly opened them again, gradually making them get used to the white lights. When I finally succeeded, I was immediately greeted by the white ceiling of my room.

"Oh my god Em, you finally woke up", Sky shrieked as she came running up to me and gave me a bone crushing hug.

"C-a-a-n't b-r-e-ea-the", I managed to let out.

"Oops! sorry!", she said apologetically as she immediately let go of me.

I heaved a huge sigh of relief. I smiled at her, letting her know that I was fine with it. I tried opening my mouth but my vocals refused to work as my throat was dry as the beach sand.

"Water", I choked out with great difficulty.

Sky poured me a glass of water from the bedside table immediately.

"Miss. Parker, how do you feel?", the doctor asked as I gulped down the entire glass of water in one go.

She was a tall and an elegant looking woman with chocolate brown eyes, black hair and flawless skin who looked dashing for her age. My instincts told me that she was at her forties.

"I feel great! If I take some rest, I would feel much better in no time, I guess", I replied with a weak smile trying to convince her to let me go.

"True that, but we still need to see whether you might have concussions and we need to dress that wound of yours too. So you will have to stay here with us for a day or two", she commented with a knowing smile.

"And I don't think I have to explain you again on your condition since you were already listening to the first time I did, right?", she asked me with a teasing smile.
